Punjab CM Unveils Multi-Pronged Strategy to Combat Drug Menace

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reaffirmed the state government's unwavering commitment to combating the drug problem in the region and claimed that a multifaceted plan has been developed to eradicate the drug problem from the state.

The chief minister announced today that the state government will be implementing a number of changes to the state's policing system while presiding over a meeting with senior Punjab Police officials. He claimed that during the rush for polls, the state police had seized a significant amount of cash and drugs and had obtained several other crucial hints about the drug supply. He also revealed that it had been discovered that lower-level police officers had occasionally collaborated with drug dealers, creating a close relationship between them. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state administration has moved several police officers who have been sitting on their positions for a long time to the lowest echelon of the hierarchy as a first initiative.
