President Draupadi Murmu has said that she is disappointed and horrified by this incident. The President has made a strong comment on the matter and said that enough is enough. She said that she is distressed over the crimes against women.
On crimes against women, President Murmu has said that the society needs 'honest, unbiased introspection' and needs to ask itself some tough questions. The President has said that no civilized society can allow such atrocities on daughters and sisters.

President Draupadi Murmu said that a reprehensible mindset sees women as lesser human beings, less powerful, less capable and less intelligent. She said that in the 12 years since the Nirbhaya case, countless rapes have been forgotten by society. This amnesia is abhorrent.
The President said societies afraid to face history resort to collective amnesia; it is time for India to face history. The President said we must comprehensively deal with this pathology so that it can be nipped in the bud.
