Patna: A significant boost to Bihar's energy sector arrived today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a slew of power projects worth ₹6204.65 crore in Madhubani. The initiatives promise to revamp the state's electricity distribution network and bring reliable power to its residents.

The cornerstone of this development is the ₹5030.74 crore 'Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme' (RDSS), aimed at modernizing and strengthening Bihar's power distribution system. This ambitious project seeks to ensure a consistent, high-quality, and uninterrupted power supply for consumers across the state.

Adding to this, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation for projects worth ₹1173.91 crore, encompassing the residential electrification of 62 previously un-electrified villages, the construction of 59 new power substations, and the fortification of Patna's electricity distribution network. These projects are poised to significantly bolster the state's power infrastructure, benefiting both urban and rural consumers.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Panchayati Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and other notable guests.

"Today marks a historic day in Bihar's energy journey," declared Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav. "Through these projects, we are not only fortifying the state's infrastructure but also reinforcing our commitment to delivering quality electricity to every household. The Prime Minister's guidance and the central government's support are a source of immense inspiration for us. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the energy department is committed to completing these projects within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring uninterrupted and reliable power services for all consumers."
