Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on April 24 to participate in a grand celebration marking National Panchayati Raj Day in Madhubani. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will unveil development projects worth over ₹13,480 crore for the state.

**Development projects worth ₹13,480 crore to be inaugurated**

During the event in Madhubani, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones, inaugurate, and dedicate multiple development initiatives to the nation. He will also confer the National Panchayat Awards to high-performing panchayats across the country in recognition of their exemplary work.

This visit is poised to bring numerous developmental strides to Bihar. In Hathua, located in Gopalganj district, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for a modern LPG bottling plant equipped with rail unloading facilities. This facility, to be built at a cost of approximately ₹340 crore, will streamline the supply chain and improve the efficiency of bulk LPG transportation.

To enhance the power infrastructure in the state, he will also lay the foundation for power sector projects worth over ₹1,170 crore. Additionally, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), he will inaugurate several electricity-related projects worth over ₹5,030 crore, aimed at significantly improving the quality and availability of power in Bihar.

**Flagging off 'Amrit Bharat' and 'Namo Bharat' rapid rail services**

The visit will also mark major developments in the railway sector, boosting connectivity across the region. The Prime Minister will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, and the Namo Bharat rapid rail service between Jaynagar and Patna. He will also flag off trains on the Pipra–Saharsa and Saharsa–Samastipur routes.

Further, the Supaul–Pipra and Hasanpur–Bithan railway lines will be inaugurated. Two newly built two-lane railway overbridges in Chhapra and Bagaha will also be opened to the public. The Khagaria–Alauli railway line will be formally dedicated to the nation. These infrastructure upgrades are expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and accelerate socio-economic development in the state.

**Empowering women and rural development**

Focusing on rural upliftment and women’s empowerment, the Prime Minister will distribute approximately ₹930 crore in Community Investment Funds to over 2 lakh self-help groups in Bihar under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM).

He will also hand over approval letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) and release installments to 10 lakh beneficiaries across the country. The event will also celebrate the housewarming ceremonies of 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-Urban (PMAY-U) houses in Bihar, where symbolic house keys will be presented to select recipients.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit marks a significant milestone in Bihar’s journey toward inclusive socio-economic development. It promises impactful progress across critical sectors such as infrastructure, energy, transportation, housing, and women's empowerment.
