PM Modi Extends Heartfelt Wishes on Dhanteras, Marks Historic Celebration of Diwali in Ayodhya with Lord Ram
For the First Time in 500 Years, Lord Ram Celebrates Dhanteras and Diwali in Ayodhya's Newly Consecrated Temple.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Tuesday) wished the people of India on the occasion of Dhanteras festival. Along with this, he said that this time the festival of Dhanteras is very special because, for the first time in 500 years, Lord Ram is celebrating the festival of Dhanteras in Ayodhya. Earlier this year, Pran Pratishtha was done in the Ram temple of Ayodhya in Ayodhya, in which many eminent personalities from the country and abroad including Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated. However, in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, BJP had to face defeat from Ayodhya. On the occasion of Dhanteras, once again PM Modi mentioned Lord Ram and Ayodhya. He described this festival this year as special for the whole country including Ayodhya.
PM Modi said through a video conference, 'I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the countrymen on Dhanteras. In just two days we will also celebrate Diwali and this year's Diwali is special. After 500 years, Lord Rama has been enthroned in his grand temple in Ayodhya and this time Diwali will be celebrated. This is the first Diwali celebrated with him in his grand temple. We are all very fortunate to witness such a special and grand Diwali.' PM Modi also congratulated Dhanteras by tweeting. He wrote, 'Many best wishes to the countrymen on Dhanteras. With the blessings of Lord Dhanvantri, may your life always be filled with good health and happiness and wealth, this is my wish'.

It is worth noting that in 2019, the Supreme Court paved the way for the construction of the temple after deciding to give the disputed piece of land to the Hindu side. The court also ordered the government to allocate a large piece of land in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque. The Ayodhya Ram temple was inaugurated in January this year. This will be the first Diwali of the temple. PM Modi presided over the grand consecration ceremony, which was attended by thousands of dignitaries including business tycoons, Bollywood actors and cricketers.
