Orientation Program for PACS Presidents and Dairy Cooperative Societies Launched in Patna
Hon'ble Minister Dr. Prem Kumar Highlights Cooperative Sector Growth, Employment Opportunities, and New Initiatives in Bihar's Dairy, Honey, and Fishery Sectors.
Today on 25.12.2024, the orientation program of the newly elected PACS President and newly registered multi-purpose milk producing cooperative societies was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Cooperative Department, Dr. Prem Kumar at Deep Narayan Singh Regional Cooperative Management Institute, Patna.
In this program, the Honorable Minister distributed the registration certificate of the newly registered dairy cooperative societies. Along with this, micro ATMs of Bank Mitras were also distributed in eligible PACS and Dairy Societies. In today's program, the newly elected PACS President and newly registered multi-purpose milk producing cooperative societies were trained about their duties and responsibilities. Honorable Minister Cooperative Department Dr. Prem Kumar said in his address that today 10 thousand newly formed multipurpose PACS, dairy and fishery cooperative societies are being inaugurated by Honorable Minister Cooperative Department Shri Amit Shah in New Delhi by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.
In this light, orientation of newly registered 145 dairy cooperative societies and newly elected PACS presidents is being done in the state today. Honorable Minister said that there are immense employment possibilities in cooperatives. Milk revolution has been possible in the state due to the initiative of the Cooperative Department. Employment has been provided to thousands of cooperative committee members in villages through milk cooperative societies. Today milk, lassi, sweets, ice cream etc. are being sent to the entire country from Bihar. After the White Revolution in Bihar, a lot of efforts are being made in the cooperative sector in (fish production) and honey production.
The process of formation of Bihar State Honey Processing and Marketing Federation has been started. Through this, the work of honey processing is also being started soon. Vegfed (Primary Vegetable Producers' Association) is providing better marketing facilities to the producers for their products.
The Hon'ble Minister said that Bank Mitra is being selected to provide door-to-door banking facilities and micro ATMs are being set up. With the help of PACS, banking facilities are being made available to the common people. The Hon'ble Minister requested all the newly elected PACS Presidents and the members of the newly registered Multipurpose Dairy Cooperative Society to try to open accounts in as many cooperative banks as possible.
Necessary amendments are being made in the committee bye-laws to make all cooperative societies multipurpose. PACS are being developed as one stop shops under business diversification. Common Service Centre, Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Petro Rail, Diesel outlets are being established in PACS. The Hon'ble Minister said that by increasing the MSP of paddy procurement, the government is benefiting the farmers. He urged the farmers to take maximum advantage of the MSP of paddy sales. The Hon'ble Minister said that in the coming days, the Cooperative Department is going to organize Cooperative Chaupal in all the Panchayats of the state. In which awareness will be spread among the people about the various schemes of the Cooperative Department at the Panchayat level and the problems of the people will be solved.
The Hon'ble Minister also directed to make the Cooperative Department's magazine "Sahakar Samvad" available to all PACS so that the PACS can get the latest information of the department.
The Hon'ble Minister said that to solve the problems of the people, camps will be organized in districts, blocks and Panchayats to solve the problems and complaints. The Hon'ble Minister urged to register any kind of problem and complaint on the Department's control room number 0612-2200693 or toll free number 18001800110. Secretary, Cooperative Department, Mr. Dharmendra Singh told all the newly elected PACS presidents that the main objective of today's orientation program is to provide them information about the various schemes of the Cooperative Department.
So that they can work in a better way. He also said that in the coming days, such orientation programs will be organized in various districts of the state. All kinds of information has been given in the guide for PACS presidents issued by the department. The newly elected PACS presidents should get good information about the Acts so that they do not face any kind of problem in working. The Secretary said that the Constitution has given everyone the right to be a part of the cooperative. There should be no discrimination of any kind against anyone.
Instructions were given to complete the registration work of all dairy cooperative societies as soon as possible and efforts should be made to make all cooperative societies multi-purpose. Work is being done to establish new Marketing Federation, Honey Processing and Marketing Federation and Fishermen Federation to provide market linkage of their products to cooperative societies.
