Focus on Easing Traffic Congestion, Enhancing Connectivity, and Preserving Heritage in the District;
Hon’ble Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his recent address, laid out an extensive roadmap to address key development needs in Muzaffarpur district. A primary focus of the plan is on resolving the persistent issue of traffic congestion in Muzaffarpur city, alongside boosting connectivity and infrastructure across the district.
Major Initiatives to Ease Traffic Jams in Muzaffarpur
Construction of a Ring Road in Eastern Muzaffarpur:
To alleviate traffic congestion, a ring road will be built in the eastern part of the city. This initiative will streamline traffic flow and significantly reduce travel time towards Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, and the new National Highway-527(C).
Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) at Gobarsahi and Ramdayalu Nagar:
The construction of ROBs at these busy railway crossings will address the severe bottlenecks at Ramdayalu Chowk. Additionally, the Madhaul-Ramdayalu road will be widened to improve traffic flow.
Key Road Projects:
- A vital path will be constructed from Sabaha Chowk to Maricha.
- Widening and Strengthening of Roads:
- Chandni Chowk to Bakhri Road Bypass.
- Chandni Chowk to Bhagwanpur Chowk, including bridge expansion.
These projects, spearheaded by the Road Construction Department, aim to enhance the city's transportation network and provide long-term solutions to traffic woes.
