March 14:In a bid to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow on the recently inaugurated Dwarka Expressway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out a series of measures aimed at enhancing commuter safety and minimizing traffic violations.

The 19-kilometer-long Haryana section of the expressway, a remarkable infrastructure achievement, has been opened to traffic, connecting the Delhi-Haryana border to the Kherki Daula cloverleaf interchange. Notably, this expressway marks India's first elevated road constructed on a single pier, showcasing innovative engineering prowess.

Recognizing the importance of safety, NHAI has deployed marshals strategically along the expressway to guide commuters at major junctions and entry/exit points. Additionally, enhanced road signage has been installed to facilitate smoother navigation for drivers. To address concerns regarding the speed differentials between vehicles, particularly high-speed ones and slower-moving vehicles, NHAI has prohibited the use of the corridor by two/three-wheelers and non-motorized vehicles. Instead, these vehicles are directed to utilize the designated service lanes flanking the expressway.

Leveraging advanced technology, NHAI has installed CCTV cameras along the corridor to monitor traffic violations and enhance overall road safety.

Furthermore, a robust Incident Management System has been implemented, comprising dedicated expressway patrol vehicles and ambulances to swiftly respond to emergencies. Commuters can also avail themselves of assistance through the toll-free National Highway Helpline Number 1033 in case of any emergency or non-emergency situations.

NHAI emphasizes the importance of responsible driving practices among commuters, urging them to refrain from wrong-side driving, maintain lane discipline, and adhere to speed limits to ensure the safety of all users on the high-speed corridor.

The Dwarka Expressway boasts India's first three-level grade segregation at major junctions, effectively segregating local traffic from through traffic, thus optimizing traffic flow and enhancing safety.

Ensuring the safety and convenience of commuters on the Dwarka Expressway remains a top priority for NHAI, underscoring their commitment to providing a safe and seamless travel experience for all.
