Massive Explosion and Fire Erupt in IOCL Refinery Benzene Tank in Vadodara

A massive explosion took place at the refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in the Koyali area of Vadodara district of Gujarat on Monday. This explosion took place in the benzene tank of the IOCL refinery. After the explosion, a massive fire broke out in the refinery. Smoke was seen several kilometers away.
After the fire, there is an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding companies. The administration team has reached the spot to control the fire. About 10 fire engines are being used to extinguish the fire.
According to initial information, a fire broke out after a massive explosion in a 1000-kilolitre benzene tank. How did the fire start? Local officials of IOCL have not yet told this. More information is being gathered in this matter.
Vadodara District Collector Bijal Shah said that the explosion took place at around 3.50 pm. IOCL refinery located in the Koyali area of Vadodara is an undertaking of Indian Oil Corporation, Government of India. Local officials are present on the spot as soon as information about the fire incident was received.
This incident happened after a major explosion in the Gujarat refinery of Indian Oil Corporation about 20 years ago. 13 people were injured in the incident of 2005. This explosion took place in the Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) plant at around 10:30 am. After this, a fire broke out.
