Major Security Lapse for Arvind Kejriwal as Man Throws Liquid at Close Range

AAP Blames BJP, Questions Delhi’s Law and Order Situation

A person threw liquid on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday. Kejriwal was walking in the Greater Kailash area at that time. After this, there was chaos at the spot and the people present there caught the accused. Later the accused was caught by the security personnel. Aam Aadmi Party lashed out at the BJP for the attack on Kejriwal and has held the BJP responsible for the attack.

According to police sources, this incident happened when Kejriwal was roaming with his supporters in the Malviya Nagar area. They also told that the accused has been taken into custody and he is being questioned.

The name of the accused is Ashok Jha. Ashok had a glass in his hand and he tried to throw water on Kejriwal by squeezing it.

Aam Aadmi Party said that BJP has carried out this attack. Also, the party said that even the former Chief Minister is not safe in the capital. Law and order have collapsed under the rule of BJP.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha said in an X post about the attack on Kejriwal, "Yesterday Arvind Kejriwal raised his voice against the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi and today he was cowardly attacked. This is highly condemnable. There is no place for violence in democratic politics. Arvind Kejriwal has the blessings of crores of people. No one can kill those whom he protects." 

At the same time, Delhi government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that BJP leaders continuously hold rallies and padayatra in every state, they are never attacked.

He also said that Arvind Kejriwal is being continuously attacked. Also raising questions on the law and order situation in Delhi, Bhardwaj said that ransom calls are constantly coming in Delhi. Bullets are being fired inside shops, warehouses and showrooms. Murders are happening in Greater Kailash. Murders are happening in Panchsheel Park. The law and order situation in Delhi has completely collapsed.

On the other hand, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that Kejriwal is resorting to his "old tricks" keeping in mind the Delhi Assembly elections to be held early next year. He said, "Every political strategy of Arvind Kejriwal has failed. He will return to his old tricks, in which he is slapped and ink is thrown on him. The same happened today. Arvind Kejriwal himself should tell what new game he has started today." He said, "We request the Delhi Police to interrogate the suspect and find out the truth. The BJP has never adopted the path of threats or violence in political campaigns."
