IIT Delhi Tops Indian Institutions in QS Asia University Rankings 2025, Surpassing IIT Bombay
Seven Indian Institutions Secure Positions in Top 100, with IIT Delhi Leading and Delhi University Making a Significant Leap
Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) has topped the list of Indian educational institutions by overtaking the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) in the recently released QS Asia University Rankings 2025. IIT Delhi, which was ranked 46th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 till last year, is ranked 44th this time, but IIT Bombay, which was ranked 40th last year, has slipped to 48th this time.
The top 100 names in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 include seven educational institutions from India, including five IITs, one Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and one Delhi University. The third Indian institution on the list of Asian institutions is IIT Madras, which has slipped three places to 56th this year.
The fourth Indian institute in the list of top Asian institutes is the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, which has slipped one place to 60th position compared to last year.
The fifth position in the list of top Indian institutes is secured by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, which was one place ahead of IIT Kharagpur last year, but this year it has slipped four places to the 62nd position.

The next Indian institute in the top 100 names of the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 is IIT Kanpur, which is now in 67th position with a drop of four places in its ranking compared to last year. The last Indian institute in the list of top 100 Asian universities is Delhi University, which is ranked 81st this time with a jump of 13 places compared to last year.
