To provide a unique and inspiring learning experience the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has officially introduced 'Prerana: An Experiential Learning Program.' This week-long residential initiative aims to empower selected students from class IX to XII with leadership qualities, aligning with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Prerana program, rooted in the rich traditions of the Indian education system and value-based education philosophy, will be hosted at a Vernacular School established in 1888, located in Vadnagar, district Mehsana, Gujarat. The school, situated in one of the oldest living cities of India, embodies resilience and serves as the perfect backdrop for a program designed to inspire the youth.

The curriculum of Prerana School, crafted by IIT Gandhi Nagar, revolves around nine value-based themes, including Swabhiman and Vinay, Shaurya and Sahas, Karuna and Sewa, and more. These themes aim to instill a sense of pride, courage, compassion, diversity, truthfulness, curiosity, faith, and responsibility among the participants.

The program will feature a day-wise schedule encompassing yoga, mindfulness, and meditation sessions, experiential learning, thematic sessions, and hands-on activities. Evening activities will include visits to ancient and heritage sites, inspirational film screenings, and talent shows, providing a holistic learning experience.

Moreover, students will engage with mentors from prestigious institutions throughout the program, fostering an environment conducive to learning and self-discovery. The selection process, conducted at both the portal and School/block levels during designated 'Prerana Utsav' days, seeks individuals with well-rounded personalities committed to shaping the future of the nation.

The initiative aims to inspire the youth to become torchbearers of a united and diverse Bharat, contributing to the nation's development. Upon completion of the program, the participants are expected to carry the ethos of Prerana back to their communities, becoming change-makers and inspiring positive transformations.

The 'Prerana: An Experiential Learning Program' presents a unique opportunity for students to not only enhance their academic knowledge but also develop essential life skills and values. As the program unfolds, it is expected to benefit not only the participants but also the communities they belong to, fostering a culture of inspiration, innovation, and positive change.
