The Government of India runs many schemes for the citizens of the country. Keeping different people in mind, the government comes up with a scheme. Some schemes are for the elderly. Some for children. While some are especially for women. Most of these schemes are for the poor and needy people. Not only the central government, but the state governments of many states of the country also run different types of schemes for the citizens of their state.
On December 12, in Delhi Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced a new scheme for women. Under this scheme, women in the national capital will get Rs 2100 per month. The Delhi government has named this scheme "Mahila Samman Yojana".
The Aam Aadmi Party government is in power in the country's capital Delhi. A few months ago, party chief Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister and now Atishi Marlena is the Chief Minister of Delhi. Mahila Samman Yojana is the latest scheme brought by the Delhi government for the welfare of women. But apart from this, many other major schemes of the Delhi government are also present for women. Mahila Samman Yojana
Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, women will be given a monthly assistance of Rs 1000. On this occasion, Arvind Kejriwal promised the public to increase this amount to Rs 2,100 after the elections. However, he made it clear that the elections are likely to be announced soon, due to which the amount can be deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries only after the voting.
This scheme was announced by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in last November. However, there are many conditions to take advantage of the scheme. The first condition is that the woman should be a registered voter of Delhi. Apart from this, the annual income of the woman should be Rs 2.50 lakh or less.
The age of women should be more than 18 years and less than 60 years. The government is already giving pension benefits to women of 60 years or above in Delhi. Also, if there is a four-wheeler in the name of the woman, then she will not be eligible for the scheme.
The scheme will benefit only those women who are not a part of any pension scheme of the government. To avail of the benefits of the scheme, one has to fill out a form and give a self-declaration that he/she is not a part of any government scheme, is not a government employee and is not an income taxpayer.
Free Bus Travel Scheme
The Delhi government started a great scheme for women in the year 2019. Under this, women in Delhi have benefited a lot. Delhi government is running a free bus travel scheme for women. No woman needs to buy a ticket to travel on any DTC bus. In this scheme, not only women of Delhi but any woman from any state who travels in DTC buses in Delhi will also get the benefit of the free travel scheme.
Widow Daughter Marriage Scheme
It is very difficult for the economically weaker section to marry their daughter. Therefore, to provide a happy married life to the daughters, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government has started the Poor Widow Daughter and Orphan Girl Marriage Scheme. Its purpose is only to help the girls with Rs 30,000 for their marriage. So that there is no heavy burden of marriage on their family.
The benefit of the scheme is provided to all the orphan girls of Delhi or daughters of widowed mothers. Let us tell you that under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 30,000 is provided to the girls during their marriage.
Ladli Yojana
Delhi government started the Ladli Yojana for daughters in the year 2008. Under this scheme, the government gives financial assistance to daughters. The government deposits money in the account of daughters under the scheme. The government deposits a total of 35 thousand rupees in the account of daughters under this scheme. Which is useful to them at their time of need. On the birth of a daughter, the government deposits 11 thousand rupees in the account.
After this, 5,000 rupees are sent to the account on taking admission in the first class, and 5,000 rupees are sent to the account on taking admission in the 6th, 9th, 10th and 12th class. Whereas if the daughter is not born in a hospital. This means that when a daughter is born, Rs 10,000 is sent to the account. When the daughter turns 18, Rs 35,000 is deposited in her account.
Delhi Pension Scheme for Women in Distress
Delhi Pension Scheme for Women in Distress (Widow Pension) is a welfare scheme of the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi aimed at providing social security by way of financial assistance to widows, divorced, separated, deserted, abandoned or destitute women in the age group of 18 years to lifelong, who do not have adequate means of livelihood and are poor, needy and vulnerable. The amount of financial assistance under this scheme is Rs. 2,500 per month.
