Darbhanga District Finalizes Electoral Roll for 2025 Special Summary Revision

With 29.7 lakh voters registered, officials urge political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) via the new portal to ensure smooth electoral processes; voter demographics and updates highlighted during the meeting chaired by District Election Officer Rajiv Roshan.;

A meeting was held with the representatives of political parties under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate, Darbhanga Shri Rajiv Roshan in the office room of the District Magistrate.

In the meeting, the District Election Officer informed that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India and Election Department Bihar Patna, the final publication of the electoral list (including service voters) prepared after the disposal of claims and objections in the order of special summary revision 2025 of the electoral list on the basis of eligibility date 01.01.2025 has been done in all the assembly constituencies.

*It is noteworthy that in the order of special summary revision in the district, after the disposal of claims and objections, the total number of voters in the electoral list including service voters is 29 lakh 70 thousand 641, out of which male voters are 15 lakh 44 thousand 628, female voters are 14 lakh 25 thousand 965 and 48 transgender voters.*The ratio of sex ratio and voter population is 923, which was 901 earlier.

There are 38755 voters in the age group of 18-19. Also, 28670 voters have been deleted from the voter list and 65 thousand 583 applications are in the state of addition.

BLA has to be appointed by political parties for booth location located at each polling station.

According to the updated report on appointment of BLA from the level of political parties, BJP has 1539, JDU has 1214, RJD has 2894 and Congress has 2154 while the total number of polling stations in the district is 2944.

Apart from four parties in the district, no list has been received for appointment of BLA from any other recognized party. In the last meeting also, the list was demanded while appointing representatives of political parties as BLA, but the list has not been received from other parties except Congress Party. Appointment of BLA is expected from all parties.

A portal related to appointment of BLA is being developed by the Chief Electoral Officer Bihar.

All the recognized political parties will be provided a user ID to log in on this portal.

On the portal, the concerned political parties can see the list of BLAs appointed so far, as well as appoint new BLAs and make their entry on the portal.

The District Election Officer said that the campaign to add names of those who are completing 18 years of age as per the eligibility date will continue.

Additional Collector Law and Order Rakesh Ranjan, Additional Collector District Sub-Divisional Public Grievance Redressal Officer Anil Kumar, Deputy Election Officer Suresh Kumar, Deputy Director Public Relations Shri Satyendra Prasad were present in the meeting.

On behalf of the political parties, Ashok Nayak, Gopal Mandal, Devendra Kumar Jha, Satya Narayan Paswan, Gagan Kumar Jha, Dhananjay Kumar Singh were present.
