Congress Unveils Manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
Promises Support for Farmers, Women, and Youth with Key Focus on Welfare Schemes and Employment
Congress on Monday released its manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. In its election manifesto, Congress has promised to provide benefits of government welfare schemes for farmers, women and youth.
The main slogan of the election manifesto of Jammu and Kashmir is 'Haath Badlega Haalat'. It says that there is insurance for protection from natural disasters for all crops and a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 72 per kg for apples.
In this manifesto, Congress has talked about providing additional financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per year to the landless, tenant and land-owning farmer families. It has promised to arrange a 99-year lease to landless farmers cultivating the land of the state.
Congress said that a fund of Rs 2,500 crore will be set up for all district-level irrigation projects to ensure 100 percent irrigation for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.
For the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the party has promised to give unemployment allowance of up to Rs 3,500 per month to eligible youth for one year. The party has also promised to fill one lakh vacant government posts by releasing a job calendar within 30 days.

BJP, Congress, National Conference and other parties including PDFI have announced their candidates.
