During his visit to West Champaran, Hon’ble Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a series of transformative projects aimed at addressing long-standing issues and driving development in the region. The announcements span across sports, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and tourism, reflecting the government’s commitment to the holistic growth of the district.

Acknowledging the aging infrastructure of Bettiah Stadium, the Chief Minister announced plans to rebuild it with state-of-the-art facilities. This initiative by the Sports Department will enable the organization of state, national, and international sports events. "The new stadium will provide a much-needed boost to sports culture in the region and encourage local talent to thrive," he emphasized.

The narrow and congested road from Barbat Sena to ITI, Circuit House, Stadium, Auditorium, and the Government Medical College and Hospital will be widened to alleviate traffic jams and improve accessibility. The Path Nirman Department has been tasked with this project to enhance connectivity and ensure smooth patient transportation to the hospital.

Additionally, a long-demanded bypass for Bettiah city has been approved. Construction work for the bypass will commence soon, addressing the critical issue of traffic congestion.

Responding to concerns raised by sugarcane farmers about low prices, the Chief Minister directed the Sugarcane Industry Department to increase the price of sugarcane by ₹20 per quintal. An additional ₹10 per quintal increase will be implemented from the upcoming season, fully funded by the state government. "This step will ensure better income for our farmers and encourage agricultural prosperity," he said.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the lack of higher education facilities in the four blocks across the Gandak River near Uttar Pradesh. He directed the Education Department to establish a new degree college in the area, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the local youth.

Chanpatia, a notable industrial hub in Bettiah district, will see further expansion of its industrial area. This initiative by the Industry Department aims to promote entrepreneurship and generate employment opportunities.

The Energy Department will establish a new electricity power grid at Amwa Man (Senuwaria)/Rulahi. This project is expected to provide reliable and quality power to the Bettiah area, enhancing living standards and industrial growth.

A new Luv-Kush Park will be developed in Valmikinagar under the supervision of the Tourism Department. This park aims to enhance the area’s appeal as a tourist destination while preserving its cultural heritage.

Other Key Announcements

• Expansion of road networks to improve inter-district and interstate connectivity.

• Focused initiatives to promote local industries and support small-scale manufacturing.

• Preservation of the environment and sustainable development through road projects overseen by the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department.
