During the observation, the Chief Minister talked to the Jeevika Didi. He said that Jeevika Didi is doing very good work in the whole of Bihar. In the year 2005, when we got a chance to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here is nominal. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank. Now the number of self-help groups in Bihar is 10 lakh 61 thousand, with 1 crore 35 lakh Jeevika didis associated with them. We named the women associated with self-help groups as 'Jeevika Didi', inspired by which the then central government named it 'Ajeevika'. This has improved the economic condition of the women of Bihar a lot. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. Their dressing and speech have also become very good. They have started talking to people without hesitation. We have also started forming self-help groups in urban areas. So far 26 thousand self-help groups have been formed in urban areas. More than 3 lakh women have joined them. Jeevika didis are doing very good work. Wherever we go, we definitely meet Jeevika didis. If they have any needs, the government fulfills them. I congratulate all of you Jeevika didis.
