CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Buddha Samyak Darshan Stupa in Vaishali, Pushes for Rapid Completion
Cultural Tourism Gets a Boost as Vaishali’s Buddhist Heritage Site Nears Completion;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inspected the under construction Buddha Samyak Darshan-cum-Smriti Stupa located at Vaishaligarh in Vaishali district and directed to complete the construction work expeditiously. During the inspection, the Chief Minister took stock of the construction and development works of the entire complex. The Chief Minister inspected the ground floor and first floor of the Buddha Stupa and inquired about the construction work going on there. He also inspected the meditation center and inquired about the arrangements there. During the inspection, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, Shri Kumar Ravi, while giving the Chief Minister an update on the progress of the construction work of the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa, told that its construction work is almost complete and the remaining work will be completed in a month.
The Chief Minister took detailed information about the main components of the scheme - the Buddha Stupa's figure (stone structure), museum block, library and meditation center, visitor center, guest house, exhibits and spectator center and inspected the site and observed the construction works closely. The Chief Minister took stock of the pond built in the campus and the trees and plants planted there. He also inspected the gallery of Making of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that we have always been coming here and inspecting the construction work here. Complete the work as soon as possible in accordance with the instructions we had given regarding the construction of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa. Improve the appearance of the complex from the environmental point of view so that the visiting tourists have a different experience at this place. He said that transportation is also being improved so that tourists can reach here easily and in less time. Employment opportunities will increase with the arrival of more and more tourists here.
The Chief Minister said that Vaishali is a historical and mythological place. Of all the bone urns of Lord Buddha found, the bone urn found in Vaishali is the most authentic. After the construction of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa is completed, along with Buddhist monks, a large number of tourists from the country and abroad will also come here. People coming here will be aware of many more information about Buddha. Devotees coming to Bodh Gaya and Rajgir will also come here. Events related to the life of Mahatma Buddha and incidents related to Buddhism are being displayed in the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum. He said that what was the condition of Vaishaligarh earlier and the work done under the plan we made later to develop it, its details are also being displayed here, through this
people will be able to know how much work has been done to develop this historical heritage.
On this occasion, Building Construction Minister Mr. Jayant Raj, MLA Mr. Siddharth Patel along with other public representatives, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister cum Secretary of Building Construction Department Mr. Kumar Ravi, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Department Mr. Pranav Kumar, Commissioner of Tirhut Division Mr. N. Sarvanaan, Inspector General of Police of Tirhut Region Mr. Chandan Kumar Kushwaha, District Magistrate of Vaishali Mr. Yashpal Meena, Superintendent of Police of Vaishali Mr. Lalit Mohan Sharma, Secretary of Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee Mrs. Mahasweta Maharathi along with other officers and engineers were present.
