CM Nitish Kumar Launches ₹1234.25 Crore Development Projects in Bhagalpur During Pragati Yatra

Fourth phase of the Yatra sees inauguration of infrastructure, education, and agricultural initiatives, along with key Smart City projects.;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 141 developmental schemes worth Rs 1234.25 crore by starting the fourth phase of Pragati Yatra from Bhagalpur district. The Chief Minister inaugurated 83 schemes at a cost of Rs 1087.41 crore and laid the foundation stone of 58 schemes at a cost of Rs 146.84 crore through remote at the playground of Inter Level School Bahadurpur, Sabour in Bhagalpur district.

While reaching Bhagalpur from Patna during Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the sites of the proposed airport (Sultanganj and Goradih) in Bhagalpur district and gave necessary guidelines to the officials. In the Bihar Agricultural University Sabour Bhagalpur campus, the Chief Minister unveiled the foundation stone of the building of Agricultural Biotechnology College, Sabour at a cost of Rs 72.32 crore and laid the foundation stone.

The officials gave detailed information through site map and building design related to the building to be constructed of Agricultural Biotechnology College, Sabour. The students of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour welcomed the Chief Minister on his arrival. Under the Climate Friendly Agriculture Program, the Laboratory of Agricultural Decision Support System, Bihar Bihar Agricultural University Sabour Bhagalpur Museum and Testing and Certification Laboratory of Bihar Agricultural University Bhagalpur were inaugurated by unveiling the plaque.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the portal of Panchayat level weather based agricultural advice. During this, the Chief Minister said that the farmers will get a lot of benefit from the launch of the portal of Panchayat level weather based agricultural advice. Information about the weather conditions at the Panchayat level will reach the farmers. On the basis of which they will be able to take decisions related to agriculture.

The Chief Minister visited the stall set up by Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour based on advanced technology related to agriculture, advanced seeds and new experiments related to agriculture. The Chief Minister released a special cover on Bihar's heritage-Mithila Makhana. The Chief Minister took stock of the renovation and beautification work done of the pond of Bahadurpur Middle School located in Barari Panchayat of Sabour block under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister said that the renovation and beautification work of this pond has been done in a very good manner. A staircase ghat has been built on its banks, which is providing convenience to the people. During this, the Chief Minister provided the allotment letter related to free allocation for the next five years to Utsav Jeevika Mahila Matsya Utpadak Samuh for the maintenance and management of the pond to Gyandeep Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan and to Jeevika Didi's. The Chief Minister inspected the playground built in the school premises and also interacted with the players. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone by unveiling the stone plaques related to various developmental schemes under Bhagalpur district through remote.

The Chief Minister visited the stalls set up by Jeevika Didi's and various departments in the premises of High School Bahadurpur. During the inspection, the Chief Minister gave a symbolic cheque of Rs 271 crore loan provided by various banks to 9236 Jeevika Self Help Groups, a symbolic cheque of Rs 31 crore provided by Jeevika to 5034 Jeevika Self Help Groups under Community Investment Fund, a symbolic cheque of Rs 10 crore 47 lakh 30 thousand under Livelihood Investment Fund provided to 1165 families benefited from Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, transfer of cow to 36 families benefited from Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, key of Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme, approval order under Chief Minister Housing Site Purchase Assistance Scheme, approval order under Chief Minister Rural Housing Assistance Scheme, symbolic cheque of Rs 8 lakh under establishment of Agricultural Equipment Bank on 80 percent subsidy under FMAM Scheme, Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, symbolic cheque of Rs 2 lakh five thousand under death benefit and financial assistance for cremation, Bihar Small Entrepreneur Under the scheme, symbolic cheques of Rs 1 crore 5 lakh were given to 105 beneficiaries as the second installment and were distributed to Bihar Student Credit Card beneficiaries.

While talking to the Jeevika sisters, the Chief Minister said that all of you are doing a very good job. In the year 2005, when we got the opportunity to work in Bihar, the number of self-help groups was negligible at that time. We decided to increase the number of self-help groups. For this, the work of expanding the self-help groups was started in the year 2006 by taking a loan from the World Bank. We named the self-help groups as Jeevika and named the women associated with them as Jeevika Didi. The central government of that time, inspired by our work, named it Aajeevika in the whole country. There is a lot of change in the condition of women by joining the Jeevika group. This is increasing their income. We have started the work of forming Jeevika groups in urban areas as well, with which a large number of women are joining. The government will fulfill whatever needs you all have. We want that along with the development of Bihar, there should be maximum upliftment of women.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Integrated Command and Control Center in Bhagalpur city under the Smart City Scheme near Sandis Compound by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed Command and Control Center. After inspection, he became aware of the traffic conditions and other activities being displayed on the LED screen in various areas of Bhagalpur city.

From the Integrated Command and Control Center premises, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Town Hall in Bhagalpur city under the Smart City Scheme at a cost of Rs 46.44 crore, the construction work of Other Backward Class Girls Residential Plus Two High School with 520 students under Shahkund Block of Bhagalpur District at a cost of Rs 37.89 crore and the construction work of 1 Unit A Type Detailed Emergency Response Facility cum Training Center in Bhagalpur District at a cost of Rs 10 crore by unveiling the plaque through remote.
