CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Rs 187 Crore Development Projects in Shivhar

During Pragati Yatra, New Panchayat Bhawans, Jeevika Initiatives, and Road Projects Highlight Government’s Commitment to Women Empowerment and Rural Development.

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 231 schemes worth Rs 187 crore in Shivhar district today during the Pragati Yatra. During the Yatra, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Panchayat Government Building at a cost of Rs 130.33 lakh in Mesaudha Gram Panchayat of Piprahi block by unveiling the stone plaque. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed Panchayat Government Building and took stock of the women's meeting hall, library, Sarpanch office etc. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that the Panchayat Government Building has been constructed in a very beautiful manner here, people will get a lot of benefit from this. The representatives of the Gram Panchayat will also get convenience. The Chief Minister also planted a sapling in the premises of the newly constructed Panchayat Government Building.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected the pond constructed by MNREGA under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. During the inspection, the Chief Minister released Jeera (baby fish) in the pond. The Chief Minister said that the pond has been constructed very well. The view here has become attractive due to the planting of plants around it. Jeevika didis will be able to do fish farming in this pond, which will increase their income. On this occasion, the sisters associated with Chameli Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan welcomed the Chief Minister by clapping. The Chief Minister also inspected the organic food being made from waste materials under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Jeevika Bhawan at Piprahi under Gram Panchayat Mesaudha by unveiling the stone plaque. The Chief Minister handed over the keys of the newly constructed Jeevika Bhawan to the Jeevika didis associated with Chameli Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan. During this, the Chief Minister interacted with the Jeevika didis and listened to them. The Chief Minister said that women are getting empowered through Jeevika. Along with this, they are also getting economic strength. Many works are being done through self-help groups. When our government was formed in Bihar, we decided to increase the number of self-help groups. For this, in the year 2006, the work of increasing self-help groups was started by taking a loan from the World Bank. We named the women associated with the self-help groups as Jeevika Didi. Many works have been done in Bihar for the upliftment and empowerment of women, all of you should remember that. We are constantly making every possible effort to take women forward. All of you Jeevika Didis are doing very good work. All of you should work diligently in the same way. Whatever your needs are, they will be fulfilled. The Chief Minister also inspected the Buniyaad Kendra Piprahi. The Chief Minister took information from the officials regarding the services being provided to the people here including physiotherapy, exercise therapy. The Chief Minister said that very good work is being done here. This will make people aware about health. Many types of health facilities are being provided to the people here.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited the exhibition organized by the Social Welfare Department, Education Department, Jeevika, Tourism Department, Science Technology and Technical Education Department, Rural Development Department, District Administration and other departments. During the observation, the Chief Minister provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 49 crore 88 lakh as financial assistance to 55709 Jeevika sisters of 5580 Jeevika self-help groups through bank linkage. A symbolic cheque of Rs 2 lakh 18 thousand 430 was provided to beneficiary Mrs. Gayatri Devi (Jeevika Didi) under the Chief Minister's Private (Other Species) Nursery Incentive Amount under the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. A symbolic cheque of Rs 1 crore 61 lakh 47 thousand was provided to the beneficiaries of 529 Sustainable Livelihood Scheme as financial assistance. The Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana, Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, Bihar Shatabdi Unorganized Work Area, Workers and Craftsmen Security (Amendment) Scheme, Chief Minister Inter-caste Marriage Incentive Grant Scheme, Chief Minister Disabled Incentive Grant Scheme to the beneficiaries. After this, the Chief Minister inspected the site of the proposed Shivhar-Meenapur-Kanti / Kushahar Devkuli Dham road widening / four lane. The officials gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the proposed four lane through the site plan. At present, the length of this path is 20.43 kilometers while the width is 7 meters. After the completion of the work of the proposed path (four lane), the length of the path will be 20.43 kilometers while the width will be 14 meters. At present, it takes 4 to 5 hours to go from Shivhar to Patna headquarters. After the construction of this path, Patna headquarters can be reached in three hours. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to start this work as soon as possible and complete it as soon as possible. After the completion of this work, people will have convenience in commuting.

Local public representatives, leaders and district administration greeted the Chief Minister by presenting him a bouquet of flowers.
