Patna:Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the Advocates’ Conference organized by the Bihar State JDU Legal Cell at the Karpoori Auditorium, located within the party’s state headquarters in Patna. The conference marked a strategic move by the Janata Dal (United) to strengthen its legal wing in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections.

In his inaugural address, Kumar congratulated members of the newly formed legal cell and emphasized their pivotal role in advancing the party’s core agenda of development with justice. He called upon the advocates to work with unity and dedication to ensure the party’s electoral success.

“I congratulate all of you on the formation of the JDU Law Cell. I am confident that the legal fraternity will contribute meaningfully to strengthening the party and supporting the government’s vision on the ground,” said the Chief Minister.

Reiterating his party’s firm commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Kumar clarified, “We have been with the NDA since the beginning. Although there was a phase of departure, we are now firmly committed to the alliance and will contest the upcoming elections together.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s development initiatives, particularly for marginalized communities and women, asserting that equitable progress remains central to JDU’s governance model.

The event witnessed ceremonial honors being presented to Kumar, including a robe, a party symbol, and a grand floral garland.

Among those present were senior party leaders and ministers, including Sanjay Kumar Jha (Acting National President), Vijay Kumar Choudhary (Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister), Bijendra Prasad Yadav (Energy and Planning & Development Minister), Ashok Choudhary (Rural Works Minister), Sunil Kumar (Education Minister), and Legislative Councilors Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Gandhiji and Lalan Sarraf.

JDU State President Umesh Kushwaha, former Minister Shyam Rajak, and JDU Legal Cell State President Dr. Anand Kumar were also in attendance, along with a large gathering of advocates and party workers from across the state.

The conference marks a key moment in the JDU’s pre-election mobilization strategy, underscoring its efforts to build a robust, legally informed party base as it heads into a crucial electoral battle later this year.
