CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for 74 Development Projects Worth ₹890 Crore in Jamui

Major Announcements for Infrastructure, Women’s Empowerment, and Rural Development Under Pragati Yatra;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 74 developmental schemes worth Rs 89088.02776 lakh at the Adarsh Mahila Thana premises of Jamui district in the fourth phase of Pragati Yatra through remote. This includes the inauguration of 58 schemes worth Rs 7640.52698 lakh and the foundation stone laying of 16 schemes worth Rs 81447.50076 lakh.

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today took stock of developmental schemes at various places in Jamui district. During this, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of Laghuar Temple in Khaira block. After the aerial survey, he landed on the helipad built in Dhavantaand village. After this, the Chief Minister inspected the cage-culture under the Jalashya Matsiyaki Vikas Yojana at Garhi Dam.

The Chief Minister conducted a field inspection of the expansion and paving of the proposed Upper Kiul Jalaish Yojana and the proposed Garhi Laghuar road and bridge scheme. During this, the Chief Minister also took detailed information from the officials. The Chief Minister inspected the proposed site for developing an eco tourism spot near Garhi Dam. During this, the Chief Minister said that it should be developed as an eco tourism spot and beautified in a better way so that people coming here can take advantage of the tourist facilities.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Women Police Station in the Adarsh Mahila Thana premises by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the stone plaque and inspected various parts of the newly constructed police station building and inquired about the arrangements there.

After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Government Women Degree College, Jamui by unveiling the stone plaque and cutting the ribbon at a cost of Rs 554.54 lakh. The Chief Minister inspected various parts of the Government Women Degree College and inquired about it.

The Chief Minister inspected the inauguration of the Model Anganwadi Center of Village Shikharia and met the children and encouraged them. The Chief Minister inaugurated the playground built at a cost of Rs 9.90 lakh in Village Sonpai. After the inauguration, while inspecting the playground, while talking to the players present there, the Chief Minister said that this ground is very well built. You people should participate in sports along with studies.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the pond constructed under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan at a cost of Rs 35.50 lakh next to the playground by unveiling the plaque. While inspecting the pond, the Chief Minister said that the depth of the pond should be increased further, its beautification should be maintained.

After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Joint Labor Building in village Sonpai at a cost of Rs 467.76 lakh by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque and also inspected its various parts.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected various departmental stalls in the Adarsh Mahila Thana premises. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls of the Industries Department, Health Department, Rural Development Department, Agriculture Department, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Labor Resources Department, Social Welfare Department, Transport Department and Education Department. During this, he provided symbolic cheques to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Startup Yojana, Student Credit Card Yojana, District Cow Development Yojana, Desi Cow Rearing Yojana, Mukhyamantri Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe (Atrocities) Prevention Act, Ayushman Card and Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana.

The Chief Minister also provided the keys of tricycles to the disabled. He provided symbolic cheques of Rs 2 crore to the beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Rs 1 crore 64 lakh to 164 beneficiaries of Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme. Keys were also provided to the beneficiaries of subsidized e-rickshaws under the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme.

The Chief Minister inquired about the various activities and products being done by the Jeevika Didis of the Self Help Group for livelihood. The Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of Rs 8 crore 85 lakh to 2,314 self-help groups, Rs 61 crore 32 lakh to 9,010 self-help groups and Rs 4 crore 27 lakh to 933 Jeevika Didi beneficiaries. Also, he saw the various products displayed at the stall of Jeevika Didi and talked to them. The Chief Minister said that in the year 2005, when we got the opportunity to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here was negligible. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking loan from the World Bank. We named the self-help group as Jeevika, inspired by which the then Central Government named it Ajeevika. We named the women associated with Jeevika as Jeevika Didi.

Self-help groups are also being expanded in urban areas. By joining self-help groups, women are becoming self-reliant and independent, due to which the economic condition of the women of Bihar has improved a lot. There has been a lot of change in their dressing and speech too. Jeevika Didi has started talking to people without hesitation. I congratulate all of you Jeevika Didi for doing good work. May you all move ahead, progress a lot. Jeevika didis thanked the Chief Minister and said that because of you our lives have improved, we have got a new identity. Our family and social status has also improved a lot, all this is your contribution.

During the program, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Minister and Minister in-charge of Jamui District Shri Ratnesh Sada, Science, Technology and Technical Education Minister Shri Sumit Kumar Singh, MP Shri Arun Kumar Bharti, MLA Ms Shreyasi Singh, MLA Shri Damodar Rawat, other public representatives, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner Shri Pratyay Amrit, Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters Shri Kundan Krishnan, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Kumar Ravi, Deputy Inspector General of Police of Munger Range Shri Rakesh Kumar, District Magistrate of Jamui Smt. Abhilasha Sharma, Superintendent of Police Shri Madan Kumar Anand along with other senior officers and dignitaries were present.
