CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates ₹210 Crore Development Projects in Saharsa

Highlights Include Residential School for Girls, Livelihood Support for Jeevika Didis, and Revival Plan for Tilave River to Boost Irrigation and Flood Mitigation;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 52 developmental schemes worth more than Rs 210 crore through remote from the campus of 10+2 High School, Mainha, located in Sattarkataiya block of Saharsa district in the third phase of Pragati Yatra. These include the inauguration of 36 schemes at a cost of Rs 94 crore and the foundation stone laying of 16 schemes costing more than Rs 116 crore.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Other Backward Class Girls Residential 10+2 High School building with 520 seats in Mainha village of Sattarkataiya block by unveiling the stone plaque and cutting the ribbon. The Chief Minister inspected various parts of the newly constructed building and took stock of other parts including the teachers' residence and hostel built in the campus. During this, the Chief Minister said that it has been built very well. Teachers will live in this campus and teach the students well. Better arrangements have also been made for the stay of the children. Conduct educational activities here in a better way so that children can get good education. Also take care of the cleanliness of the campus. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls of various departments, Agriculture Department, Industry Department, Health Department, Minority Welfare Department, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department and Education Department etc. set up in this school campus. Also, he saw the various products displayed at the stall of Jeevika Didi and talked to them. The Chief Minister said that in the year 2005, when we got a chance to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here is negligible. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank. We named the women associated with the self-help groups as 'Jeevika Didi', inspired by which the then Central Government named it 'Ajeevika'. This has improved the economic condition of the women of Bihar a lot. By joining the self-help groups, women are becoming self-reliant. Their dress and speech have also become very good. They have started talking to people without hesitation. I congratulate all of you Jeevika Didi for doing better work.

During this, the Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of Rs 144 crore 27 lakh to 46883 self-help groups, Rs 11 crore 70 lakh to 2358 self-help groups and Rs 25 crore to 2993 self-help groups for livelihood. Under the Chief Minister's Pond Matsya Vaniki Yojana, an amount of Rs 8 lakh 46 thousand and Rs 15 lakh 62 thousand was provided to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister met the beneficiaries of the Bal Hriday Yojana and also provided cheques to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Card. The Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of Rs 36 lakh 44 thousand to 38 beneficiaries under the Samagra Gavya Vikas Yojana and Rs 2 crore to 120 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Udyam Yojana. Under the scheme of the Minority Welfare Department, a symbolic cheque of Rs 16 lakh 60 thousand was provided to the beneficiaries. Also, the Chief Minister performed Annaprashan of the child. The Chief Minister handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme.

After this, the Chief Minister conducted a field inspection for the problem of silt in the Tilave river. During this, the officials informed the Chief Minister through a sketch of the proposed plan to revive the Tilave Dhar, increase irrigation facilities from it and reduce floods. The length of this Dhar will be 150 km and the width will be 50 m. With the revival of this Dhar, 2700 hectares of area of ​​​​Supaul, Madhepura, Saharsa and Khagaria districts will be benefited. The estimated amount of this scheme is Rs 1253.516 lakh. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that with the revival of Tilave Dhar, Supaul, Madhepura, Saharsa and Khagaria districts will benefit a lot. There will be relief from the problem of waterlogging in the area. This will also help in flood mitigation. He said that excavation should be done in such a way so that there is no deposition of silt and there is a good filling of soil on both sides.

After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Panchayat Government Building in Vishanpur and took stock of the first class veterinary hospital and other parts including the Public Service Center built in the campus. Also, he took information about the arrangements there. The Chief Minister said that after the construction of the Panchayat Government Building, the people of this Panchayat will get the benefit of all the government facilities under one roof.

After this, the Chief Minister unveiled the plaque and laid the foundation stone of the building of the upgraded higher secondary school in Vishanpur at a cost of Rs 237.29 lakh. Also, the Chief Minister inaugurated the sports complex in the middle school campus of Gram Panchayat Vishanpur. The Chief Minister also inspected the smart class room, ICT lab of Madhya Vidyalaya Vishanpur and interacted with the students there and took information about studies. The Chief Minister told the students that you all should study diligently. Your study related facilities are being taken care of.

During the inspection, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources cum Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Liquor Prohibition, Excise and Registration Minister and Saharsa District In-charge Minister Mr. Ratnesh Sada, MP Mr. Dinesh Chandra Yadav, MLA Mr. Alok Ranjan, MLA Mr. Gunjeshwar Sah, other public representatives, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Dr. S. Siddharth, Chief Minister's Secretary Mr. Kumar Ravi, Purnia Division Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Kosi Zone's Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Manoj Kumar, Saharsa District Magistrate Mr. Vaibhav Chaudhary, Saharsa Superintendent of Police Mr. Himanshu and other senior officers were present.
