The Hon’ble Chief Minister, during his visit to Gopalganj district, made a series of significant announcements aimed at addressing long-standing issues raised by local residents. These initiatives, covering transportation, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure, reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development in the region.

Responding to sugarcane farmers’ demand for fair prices, the Chief Minister announced an additional increase of ₹10 per quintal, bringing the total hike to ₹20 per quintal over the previous season. This move, implemented by the Sugarcane Industry Department, will be fully funded by the state government and aims to improve the financial well-being of farmers.

Key Transportation and Infrastructure Projects

Transportation improvements are a major focus of the announcements, addressing the region's critical needs:

Mirganj Market Bypass:

A bypass will be constructed in Salempatti village of Uchkagaon block to ease traffic congestion in the Mirganj market. This project by the Road Construction Department will benefit nearly 10 lakh residents across Vijayipur, Bhore, Kateya, Phulwaria, and Panchdevri blocks by improving connectivity to the district headquarters and reducing travel time.

Gopalganj Bypass Completion:

A bypass will be constructed connecting NH-27 in Bhojpurwa village to Turkaha on NH-531. This bypass will complete Gopalganj’s ring road, alleviating traffic jams caused by sugarcane transportation and providing smoother access for patients traveling to hospitals.

Saran Embankment Upgrades:

The Water Resources Department will strengthen and pave the 32 km stretch between 120 km and 152 km of the Saran embankment. This initiative will support flood prevention efforts and improve travel conditions for residents in the region.

Kateya Industrial Area Bypass:

To enhance vehicle movement around the newly established milk processing unit in Kateya Industrial Area, a bypass road connecting the site to Vijayipur Deoria Road will be constructed. This will facilitate both industrial transportation and ease commuting for the general public.

Bridge over Daha River:

A bridge will be built over the Daha River between Nawada Parsauni and Dumariya village under the Uchkagaon block. This bridge, overseen by the Rural Works Department, will provide year-round connectivity for residents.

Bankarpur-Dumariya Ghat Four-Lane Road:

The Road Construction Department will develop a four-lane road from Bankarpur (Saran) to Dumariya Ghat (Gopalganj), ensuring convenient travel to Patna and boosting regional connectivity.

The Tourism Department will take up the beautification and development of the historic Maa Thawe Temple. This project aims to provide better facilities for devotees and enhance the temple’s appeal as a major tourist destination, promoting cultural heritage and tourism in Gopalganj.

The Chief Minister’s announcements reflect a robust and balanced development plan that addresses key demands from residents while laying a strong foundation for future growth. He reiterated the government’s commitment to completing all pending development work in Gopalganj and ensuring no gaps remain.
