Bihar Wins Gold Medal at 43rd India International Trade Fair for Outstanding Pavilion

Showcasing Art, Culture, and Progress Towards "Developed Bihar 2047," the Pavilion Highlights Innovation, Women Empowerment, and Sustainable Growth Initiatives

Bihar has won the Gold Medal for its excellent exhibition in the 43rd edition of India International Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan in the capital Delhi. This medal was given to Mr. Nikhil Dhanraj Nipanikar, Nodal Officer of Bihar's project, in the felicitation ceremony held this evening. During this, Secretary of the Department of Industries, Mrs. Vandana Preyasi and Director of Industries, Mr. Alok Ranjan Ghosh were also present.

Expressing happiness on winning the medal, Mrs. Vandana Preyasi said, "We express our respect to IITF for appreciating our efforts through the Gold Medal. Bihar has made unprecedented progress in the last few years. We are committed to make Bihar a developed state by 2047 and are implementing investment-friendly policies accordingly. I am happy to inform that investment is continuously increasing in Bihar. We invite investors to make Bihar a developed Bihar." Mr. Alok Ranjan Ghosh said, "This honour given to Bihar is very encouraging for us. It will further strengthen our efforts towards the development goals of 2047. Known for its art and culture, Bihar has today become the first choice of investors as well. The development of the state is providing new opportunities for investors every day."

 

Overwhelmed by the honour, Mr. Nikhil Dhanraj Nipanikar said, "This honour given to Bihar reflects the love of the people for the art, culture and heritage of Bihar and its fame in the country and abroad. This honour is a proof that we were successful in presenting the concepts of Vikasit Bihar 2047 in a clear and better way. Bihar is rapidly moving on the path of progress and we are hopeful that it will be successful in achieving the development goals of 2047."

On last Sunday, the Hon'ble Minister of Industry and Tourism of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Mishra inaugurated the Bihar Mandap and cultural programme, which was the centre of attraction on that day.

Bihar was the partner state this year, so the Bihar Pavilion was designed in line with the theme Developed India 2047. Under the guidance of Secretary, Industries Department, Smt. Vandana Preyasi and Director, Industries, Shri Alokranjan Ghosh, the Industries Department of Bihar Government, with the help of Udyog Mitra team, conceptualized the entire event and exhibition.

The Bihar Pavilion had a total of 75 stalls showcasing the handloom, khadi, and handloom products of the state. Nalanda's Babban Booti, ​​Bhagalpuri silk, Mithila's Madhubani paintings, Patna's Tikuli art and other artifacts were put up for sale and display.

The Pavilion was designed around the theme of Bihar's unique cultural and historical heritage. The entrance was designed as a "Civilization Gate" adorned with the logo of "Developed Bihar 2047".

At the center of the Pavilion was the Bihar Museum. Its walls also displayed 3D paintings of the modern Nalanda University and the iconic Buddha Bridge. Other walls were adorned with Madhubani, Manjusha and Tikuli art created by renowned Padma Shri artists of Bihar. The pavilion showcased traditional art forms- Madhubani paintings, terracotta art and Sikki crafts. Through this interactive display, visitors witnessed and experienced the rich art of Bihar!

Further, the exhibits at the Bihar pavilion included glimpses of the state’s flagship initiatives like Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Start-up Bihar showcasing entrepreneurship and innovation. Additionally, the focus on women empowerment through initiatives like Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana highlighted Bihar’s commitment to inclusive growth.

The pavilion was designed eco-friendly following the ITPO’s plastic-free guidelines. Local materials were used in the décor, which reflected the state’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
