Bihar to Launch Survey for New Beneficiaries Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin

Statewide Survey Begins January 10, 2025, Targeting Homeless and Kutcha Households to Update Beneficiary List After Six Years.;

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, eligible beneficiaries are being given the benefit of housing from the Awas Plus list. At present, there are some families in the state who are eligible to get the benefit of housing, but their name is not in the waiting list. At the same time, the survey work under the scheme was done earlier in the financial year 2018-19.

Since it has been almost six years since the survey was done, some new families have been formed in this period, who are eligible to get the benefit of housing. To give the benefit of housing to these families, permission was sought from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India to survey the eligible beneficiaries.

Registration of the surveyor and e-KYC is mandatory before the survey. The work of mapping the revenue village with the Panchayat on Awas Soft is about to be completed. The survey work is being started after completing these works. The survey work is to be done by the Rural Housing Assistant, in the Panchayats where the Rural Housing Assistant is not working, the survey will be done by the Panchayat Employment Servant and in the Panchayats where there are no Rural Housing Servant and Panchayat Employment Servant, the survey work will be done by the Panchayat Secretary.

Survey work will be done in a total of 8053 Panchayats of the state. Awas App, 2024 has been launched by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India for the survey. The time limit for the survey has been fixed by the State Government from January 10, 2025 to March 31, 2025.

Eligible families living in homeless and kutcha houses of the state can participate in this survey and get the benefit of housing by registering their name in the list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
