Bihar Takes Giant Leap in Healthcare: CM Nitish Kumar Launches Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital

Patna: In a significant move to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for the Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital in Phulwari Sharif, Patna, today.


The hospital, being built at a cost of approximately Rs 25 crore, will be the country's first dedicated cancer hospital for children. The six-story hospital, with a capacity of 100 beds, will provide free treatment to children below 18 years suffering from cancer.


Speaking on the occasion, CM Nitish Kumar emphasized the state government's commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Bihar. He lauded the efforts of the Mahavir Mandir Nyas Samiti in building the hospital, which will be a beacon of hope for children battling cancer.


The hospital's construction is expected to be completed soon, and it will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a team of expert doctors and medical staff.


This initiative is a significant step towards strengthening Bihar's healthcare infrastructure and providing relief to families affected by cancer. The state government's efforts to improve healthcare services will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Bihar.


In another significant development, the Bihar government has launched the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY), a health insurance scheme aimed at providing coverage to families not covered under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The scheme offers health insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.


The launch of the Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital and the CMJAY scheme is a testament to the state government's commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Bihar.
