Bihar Open Quiz Contest 2024: Team Agatha Quiztee Triumphs in Thrilling Finale

The Bihar Open Quiz Contest, organized by Extra-C in collaboration with the Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna, attracted a diverse group of seasoned quizzers and enthusiastic novices alike. Ace quizzers Saransh Mohapatra, Vivek Singh, and Samiran Mondal, clinched the first prize. Piyush Kedia from IIM Calcutta and Baneswar Sarkar from IIT Kharagpur teamed up to secure the second prize. School students Ambar Sinha, Anurag Sinha, and Ishaan Bhushan from St. Karen’s High School Patna showcased impressive skills and earned third place.

The contest featured a total of 87 teams, with 261 participants forming teams of up to three members. All registered participants began with a written preliminary round, answering 30 questions, including six star-marked tie-breaker questions, presented in a multimedia format.

Top Scorers Advance to Stage Two

The top six scoring teams moved on to the on-stage round, where they faced four different rounds with varying point values. Team Agatha Quiztee emerged victorious, scoring an impressive 140 points, closely followed by teams Mokama Passengers and 3 Idiots.

Prize Winners:

• First Prize: Saransh Mohapatra, Vivek Singh, and Samiran Mondal (Team Agatha Quiztee)
• Second Prize: Piyush Kedia and Baneswar Sarkar (Team Mokama Passengers from IIM Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur)
• Third Prize: Ambar Sinha, Anurag Sinha, and Ishaan Bhushan (Team 3 Idiots from St. Karen’s High School, Patna)

The top three teams received prize money of ₹25,000, ₹20,000, and ₹15,000, respectively, along with trophies, certificates, and gifts.

To recognize the talent and commitment of all participants, awards were also presented in both school and college categories.

School Category Winners:

• First Prize: Vaibhav Shekhar, Naman Singh, and Nabhya Pratap Singh (Team Prinar from DPS Patna)
• Second Prize: Abhigyan Agrawal, Abhigya Verma, and Apoorv Yash Kumar (Team Quiz Gangsters from St. Xavier's High School, Patna)
• Third Prize: Arpit Kamal and Amrit Kamal (Team Gandhian Gangsters from Don Bosco Academy, Patna)

College Category Winners:

• First Prize: Dr. Kamran Ali, Dr. Abhinav Bharadwaj, and Utpal K. Chaudhary (Team Scalpel Squad from IGIMS Patna)
• Second Prize: Keertikesh Rajkiran, Abhishek Upadhyay, and Akshir Aarnav (Team Litti Legions from Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute, Patna)
• Third Prize: Keshav Kumar, Ujjwal Kumar, and Kumar Gyanendra (CIMP)

Held on the CIMP campus, the contest drew participants from various cities across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Sri Vivek Kumar Singh, Chairman of RERA, as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, and Mr. Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of CIMP. Celebrated Quiz Master from Bangalore Ochintya Sharma conducted the Quiz with great aplomb. He praised the efforts and awareness level of the participants and the audience.
