Bihar Govt. Allocates ₹50,000 per School for Repairs, Strengthens Infrastructure Under CM Nitish Kumar's Visionary Leadership
Streamlined Fund Transfer Process to Ensure Timely Maintenance and Accountability in Schools
In a significant step towards improving school infrastructure, the Bihar government has allocated ₹50,000 per school for repairs in the 2024-25 financial year. This initiative, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, aligns with his vision of strengthening the state's education system and overall development. The funds are being directly transferred to the bank accounts of schools as per departmental approval order number - 02, dated April 1, 2024, ensuring schools can address essential repair and maintenance needs promptly.
Under CM Nitish Kumar's dynamic leadership, Bihar continues to make strides in various sectors, including education. His forward-thinking approach has empowered departments across the board to achieve tangible progress, particularly in ensuring that schools have the necessary infrastructure to provide a conducive learning environment.
Key Repair Works Covered:
- Repair of electrical fixtures (bulbs, fans, tube lights).
- Maintenance of toilets, taps, and water systems (submersibles, pipes, overhead tanks).
- Repairs of windows, doors, blackboards, benches, desks, cupboards.
- Painting, and maintenance of kitchen and laboratory equipment.
- Computer repairs for non-AMC systems, and fixes for broken floors and roofs.
- Water drainage and bush clearing around school premises.
Transparent Fund Management and Accountability
Funds will be managed by the Head Master or In-charge Head Master, with a clear system of accountability in place. All repair bills must detail material costs and labor wages, and receipts must bear signatures from both the Principal and the next senior-most teacher. This dual-signature system ensures transparency in financial management.
Schools are required to maintain a balance of ₹50,000 for repairs. When funds are used, such as a ₹35,000 expenditure on repairs, the school will submit receipts to the District Education Officer (DEO), who will replenish the account, ensuring continuous availability of funds.
Impact of Nitish Kumar’s Leadership on Education
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar's education sector is witnessing significant transformation. His government's emphasis on improving infrastructure, teacher training, and student facilities reflects a deep commitment to uplifting the quality of education in the state. This allocation for school repairs is yet another example of how the state is ensuring better facilities for students, contributing to overall educational growth.
Monitoring and Compliance
The District Program Officer (Establishment/Planning and Accounts) will submit DC bills to the Accountant General, along with original certificates in BTC-27 A, ensuring strict compliance and financial control. The funds are specifically for the 2024-25 fiscal year, with no rollover into the following year.
This initiative, part of Nitish Kumar's broader vision of development, ensures that schools across Bihar will be well-maintained, fostering an improved educational environment. Through his visionary leadership, Bihar is advancing steadily, strengthening key departments like education and paving the way for a brighter future.
