Bihar Government Releases 2025 Holiday Calendar with 4 Additional Holidays for State Employees

State employees to receive 40 holidays, including Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary on 6 January and 27 December

Good news for the government employees working in Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Government has released the holiday calendar for the year 2025. This time the state employees will get 4 more holidays than last year.

This time there will be a total of 40 holidays. The most important thing is that there will be a holiday on both 6 January and 27 December for the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

Giving information, Dr. S Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Department, said that in the year 2025, 21 holidays have been approved under NI Act, 22 holidays under optional leave (out of which 3 can be used) and 16 holidays under government order. At the same time, 3 holidays under NI Act are falling on Sunday. Apart from this, there will also be a holiday for closing of accounts on 1 April. 36 leaves were given in 2024

The state employees of Bihar got a total of 36 leaves in the year 2024. 15 days of general leave, 17 days of public leave and 20 days of optional leave were given, out of which three leaves could be taken as per one's choice. Apart from this, one day of annual closing of accounts was also included as leave.
