Bihar Government Issues Guidelines for Effective School Inspection and Monitoring

Education Department's Directive Aims to Enhance Quality of Education and Ensure Proper Implementation of Government Schemes

The Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, continues effort to ensure the provision of quality education to students in the state's schools. With this objective the Education Department of the Government of Bihar has issued an important directive, in which guidelines have been given to make the process of inspection and monitoring of schools effective. This order has been issued by the Education Department to all the District Education Officers (DEO), Block Education Officers (BEO), and other concerned officials of the state. This directive has been issued to ensure the quality of education and promote the proper development of the students.

The order states that the officers at the district level should regularly inspect the schools and review their work. The attendance of teachers, the academic progress of students, and the schemes run in the schools should be monitored properly. Also, inspection of schools should be done on time at the block level so that the quality of education improves.

During the inspection, the mid-day meal scheme, scholarship scheme, and other government schemes running in the schools will also be checked compulsorily. It will be ensured that all eligible students get the benefit of these schemes properly.

According to the order, if any irregularity is found in any school, action will be taken against the concerned officials. Apart from this, the inspection report will have to be sent to the headquarters from time to time so that monitoring can be done at a high level.

This directive issued by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Dr. S Siddharth, aims to increase transparency and accountability in schools. This step will prove to be important in the direction of educational improvement of teachers and students.
