Bihar Government Appoints 35 Ministers as District In-Charges to Monitor Development Programs

Bihar Government Appoints 35 Ministers as District In-Charges to Monitor Development Programs

The Bihar government has released a new list of ministers in charge. Issuing an important notification in this regard, the new appointment of ministers in charge for various districts of the state has been announced. Under this order, the Cabinet Secretariat Department has assigned the responsibility of different districts to a total of 35 ministers. Its objective is to monitor the schemes at the district level, improve administrative work and make the governance system more effective.

Its notification has been issued from the Cabinet Department level on 25 April 2025. It is clearly mentioned that these appointments are being made as Minister-in-Charge of the districts-cum-Chairman of the District Program Implementation Committee.

According to this list, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance and Commercial Tax Minister Samrat Chaudhary has been made the Minister in charge of Patna district, while Deputy Chief Minister cum Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has been given the charge of Muzaffarpur. Along with this, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has been made the Minister in charge of two districts (Purnia and Nalanda). Also, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav has been made the in-charge minister of Vaishali, Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar of Kaimur, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar of Samastipur and Madhepura.

At the same time, Small Water Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Suman has been made the in-charge minister of Aurangabad, Science and Technology Minister Sumit Kumar Singh of Saran, Renu Devi of Siwan, Mangal Pandey of Darbhanga, Neeraj Kumar Singh of Katihar.

Building Construction Minister Ashok Chaudhary has been given the charge of two districts. He has been made the in-charge minister of Sitamarhi as well as Jehanabad. Lesy Singh has been made the in-charge minister of Madhubani, Madan Sahni of Supaul, Industry Minister Nitish Mishra of Araria, Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen of Buxar, Information and Public Relations Department Minister Maheshwar Hazari of Khagaria, Transport Minister Sheela Kumari of Lakhisarai, Education Minister Sunil Kumar of East Champaran, Scheduled Caste and Tribe Minister Janak Ram of West Champaran, Hari Sahni of Arwal, Krishnanandan Paswan of Gopalganj and Jayant Raj of Rohtas.

Along with this, Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Jama Khan has been made the in-charge minister of Kishanganj, Ratnesh Sada of Jamui, Kedar Prasad Gupta of Bhojpur, Surendra Mehta of Banka, Santosh Kumar Singh of Bhagalpur, Sanjay Sarawagi of Begusarai, Dr. Sunil Kumar of Gaya, Urban Development and Housing Department Minister Jivesh Kumar of Nawada, Rajkumar Singh of Sheikhpura, Art and Culture Minister Motilal Prasad of Shivhar, Vijay Kumar Mandal of Saharsa and IT Minister Krishna Kumar Mantu has been made the in-charge minister of Munger district.

The objective of this new responsibility from the government level is to review the work execution in the districts, timely implementation of schemes and ensure prompt resolution of local problems. The Minister in charge will now regularly visit the respective districts and keep an eye on the development plans by holding meetings with administrative officials. Also, he will act as a bridge between the government and the public in the districts
