Bihar Government Allocates Rs 25 Crore for Chhath Puja Preparations to Ensure Smooth Festivities

Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Naveen Leads Efforts to Enhance Safety, Cleanliness, and Infrastructure at Chhath Ghats Across the State

The Bihar government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has started preparations to conduct the upcoming Chhath Puja smoothly. As part of this, the Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Naveen took information about the preparations going on for Chhath Ghats. At the same time, he sanctioned an amount of Rs 25 crore from the department to the municipal bodies across the state so that the Chhath devotees do not face any inconvenience during the puja. With the help of this amount, the minister directed to do other necessary works including barricading, toilets, changing rooms, street lights, watch towers, etc. on all the ghats. He said that Chhath is our self-respect for us Biharis. In such a situation, we worry about our self-respect all the time. Therefore, this year we have sanctioned an amount of Rs 25 crore keeping in mind that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience during Chhath Puja.

Minister Nitin Naveen said that funds have been allocated to all the municipal bodies including Patna for Chhath Puja, in which Patna Municipal Corporation has been sanctioned an amount of Rs 12 crore and other 18 municipal corporations have been sanctioned a total amount of Rs 1 crore 80 lakh. Apart from this, each city council has been given an amount of Rs 4 lakh, each Nagar Panchayat has been given an amount of Rs 3 lakh. At the same time, an amount of Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned to Dev Nagar Panchayat of Aurangabad for Chhath Puja. Along with this, an amount of Rs 3 crore has been allocated to Patna DM for providing law and order and public facilities. After Diwali, instructions have been given to make special arrangements (determination of a separate place for immersion) for immersion of idols and worship material coming out of houses around the river and pond. So that dirt can be prevented from spreading in the river and pond.

Here, the Secretary of the Department, Abhay Singh ji, told about the preparations for Chhath Puja that this year also all the municipal bodies have been instructed to get the water body cleaned and make extensive arrangements for security. All officers and officials have been strictly instructed to ensure that the devotees and citizens participating in the Puja do not face any problems. Apart from this, temporary alternative ghats should be constructed and proper arrangements should be made to make Chhath festival successful and safe. Municipal bodies in Ganga Town have been asked to pay special attention to this work.
