Energy Secretary and BSPHCL CMD Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal directed the headquarters and all regional electrical engineers for effective implementation of PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

The Energy Secretary directed to prepare a concrete action plan for achieving the targets at all the concerned power supply zones, divisions and section levels. He clearly instructed that all electrical superintending engineers will review the scheme implementation in their respective zones as per the set target.

Mr. Pal directed to form a special cell for effective implementation of Surya Ghar Yojana which will be headed by the Chief Engineer. He also directed to run a door-to-door campaign. He said that by establishing direct contact with consumers with high electricity consumption, tell them the benefits of installing solar power plants and also tell them how their electricity bill can be minimized by this. Strict instructions were given to the engineers performing poorly under this scheme and they were directed to improve their working style.

It is known that under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, consumers will get a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt up to 2 kilowatts, Rs 18,000 for additional kilowatts for the third kilowatt and Rs 78,000 for more than three kilowatts.

He asked all the engineers to ensure people's participation in the implementation of PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Reach out to every consumer and tell them the long-term benefits of solar energy and provide assistance in the application process. He also said that along with target-based work, there should be full focus on the result.

He instructed all the regional engineers to celebrate two days in a week as 'Solar Energy Public Awareness Day' and ensure the installation of as many solar plants as possible. It is noteworthy that till now solar plants have been installed on a total of 5683 private buildings in the state, which is producing 21 megawatts of electricity. The implementation of this scheme is not only promoting solar energy but also bringing down people's electricity bills unexpectedly
