The Education Department of the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar Government has made a big announcement for teachers, school teachers, librarians and non-teaching staff working in all government schools in the state. The Education Department has now decided to maintain an e-Service Book for all employees. With this new step, all the information, certificates, and biometric data related to the service of teachers and other employees will be stored in digital form, which will bring transparency in the departmental process.

E-Service Book will have complete information

The e-service book will include information such as the appointment of employees, salary fixation, promotion, transfer, departmental action, educational and pre-educational qualifications, awards and leave. Apart from this, all the educational and pre-educational certificates submitted by teachers and other personnel to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) or Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will also be included in it.

The aim of this initiative is to ensure that no teacher or personnel working in the state can tamper with their educational and pre-educational certificates in any way. Officers related to e-service book will have the facility to view and verify these documents at any time.

Biometric verification mandatory

The Education Department has also decided that biometric verification of transferred teachers will be done. Under this, Aadhaar-based biometric verification and thumb impression of school teachers and teachers of local body who have passed the competency will be checked, which was earlier taken during the online examination.

Teachers advised to check their certificates

The Education Department has urged all teachers to ensure that their educational and pre-educational certificates are correct so that no error is found during verification. During this process, if any irregularity is found in the certificate or biometric data of any teacher or worker, then legal action will be taken against the concerned person.

Instructions to Directors

The Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth has directed all the District Education Officers to disseminate this decision among all the teachers, school teachers, librarians and non-teaching staff under them. Also, explain the importance of this process to all concerned personnel and motivate them to check the authenticity of their certificates and biometric data.

This step is considered an important initiative to bring transparency and reliability in the service processes of the Education Department, which will make departmental investigations and actions more simple and reliable in the future.
