Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar on Thursday laid the foundation stone of 2615 Panchayat Government Buildings and State Panchayat Resource Centre, Sonpur building under the Panchayati Raj Department at Rs 7160 crore by pressing the remote button at 'Sankalp' located at 1 Anne Marg. Also inaugurated 13 District Panchayat Resource Centres, 65 Panchayat Government Buildings, e-Gram Kachhari Court Management System and District Council Portal.
Addressing the program organized on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the foundation stone of 2615 Panchayat Government Buildings has been laid today. We have been emphasizing building 'Panchayat Government Buildings' since the beginning. Our concept is that there should be the same system in Panchayati Raj institutions as that of the state government, so we have called these buildings 'Panchayat Government Buildings' instead of Panchayat Bhawans. We have set a target of building 'Panchayat Government Buildings' in every Gram Panchayat. He said that initially 330 Panchayat Government Buildings were built. After the foundation stone laying of the Panchayat Government Building today, out of 8053 Panchayat buildings in the state, 6858 buildings have been approved. Of these, 1548 are complete and the rest are under construction. In today's program, 65 Panchayat Government Buildings have also been inaugurated. He said that now suitable land is being searched for the remaining 1195 Panchayat Government Buildings. The district officials have been ordered to identify suitable land in any village of the concerned Gram Panchayat and start the construction of the Panchayat Government Building there immediately. Not only Panchayat Panchayat-related work is done in the Panchayat Government Building, but work of other departments is also done. People will get a lot of convenience after the construction of the Panchayat Government Building. Install solar plates on the roof of Panchayat Government Buildings, this will save a lot of electricity expenses.
The Chief Minister said that the construction of 'Panchayat Government Buildings' should be completed in all the Panchayats by June 2025. All Panchayat Government Buildings should be maintained in a better manner. 13 District Panchayat Resource Centers have also been inaugurated at the district level today. The foundation stone of the state-level resource center has also been laid in Sonpur. He said that work on many schemes is going on under Saat Nishchay-2. The work of installing solar street lights in rural areas has been going on rapidly since the year 2021. Solar streetlights have been installed in many wards. On average, 10-10 solar streetlights are being installed in every ward. If required for large wards and public places, arrangements have been made to install an additional 10 solar lights in every panchayat. Solar streetlights will provide light in the village throughout the night. The Chief Minister said that there are 109321 wards in the entire state in which the target is to install 1175740 street lights. Today 3 lakh 75 thousand solar street lights are being inaugurated. Now the work of installing the remaining 8,00,740 street lights is being done, which should be completed by March 2025. Nothing was done in the previous government. We have done a lot of work in the field of electricity. Electricity has been provided to every house and people are getting its benefits. The Chief Minister said that under the three-tier Panchayati Raj system, information about various types of suggestions and problems has reached us from the District Council President and District Council members under the District Council and at the block level, from the Block Pramukh and Panchayat Samiti members under the Panchayat Samiti and at the Panchayat level from the Mukhiya and Ward members under the Gram Panchayat. Instructions have been given to review these suggestions and problems and do the necessary work. Today I request all the Panchayat representatives you cooperate in completing all the Panchayat Government Buildings and Solar Street Lights by March 2025. All Panchayat representatives will continue to get full support from the State Government. The State Government will consider your problems and suggestions.
