Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House Complex in West Champaran

₹120 Crore Tourism Infrastructure Project Aims to Boost Valmiki Nagar's Appeal as a Tourist Destination

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House in Valmiki Nagar, West Champaran district by unveiling the plaque and cutting the ribbon. The Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Maharishi Valmiki ji installed in the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House premises and paid his respects to him. The Chief Minister also planted a sapling in the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House premises.

After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House. During this, the Chief Minister inspected the meeting room, lift lobby, multi-purpose hall etc. and took detailed information from the Secretary of Building Construction Department, Shri Kumar Ravi. The Chief Minister, while giving instructions to the officials, said that special care should be taken to ensure that the maintenance of the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House is done properly. It has been constructed in a very beautiful manner. After its construction, now the tourists coming here will have convenience in accommodation. The number of people coming here is increasing, keeping this in mind, it has been constructed. Keeping in mind the facilities of the people, the state government is developing every area of ​​Bihar.


 



A short film based on the Valmiki Sabhagar and Guest House prepared by the Building Construction Department was screened in front of the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister honoured West Champaran District Magistrate Mr. Dinesh Kumar Rai, Bagaha Sub-Divisional Officer Dr. (Mrs.) Anupama Singh and other officers and engineers who made a special contribution in the construction of the Valmiki Sabhagar and Guest House by presenting them with certificates.

The local public representatives and the district administration felicitated the Chief Minister by presenting a bouquet of flowers at the Valmikinagar Airport.

It is noteworthy that the rich heritage and culture, as well as natural beauty, have given Valmiki Nagar a distinct identity in the country and the world. The vision, efficient leadership and farsighted thinking of Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar recognised the possibilities of economic development through tourism in Valmikinagar and took several important decisions for development in this area. In this episode, the foundation stone of the Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House Complex was laid by the Chief Minister on 05 May 2022. The Building Construction Department has constructed the Valmiki Auditorium and four guest houses within the stipulated time with administrative approval of about Rs 120 crore given by the Irrigation Department on 27 acres of land on the banks of the gurgling Gandak River and Valmiki Canal. The total built-up area of ​​the complex is 16,872 square meters. The buildings have been constructed as per the standards of earthquake zone four and green building. The total built-up area of ​​the main building i.e. Valmiki Auditorium is 7457 square meters, in which an auditorium of 500 capacity equipped with state-of-the-art facilities has been constructed for other important events like cultural programs, seminars. Audio-visual equipment based on new technology, CCTV cameras, fire fighting equipment have also been installed in the auditorium. There is a green room, a special room, a restaurant with a capacity of 80 people on the ground floor of the Valmiki Auditorium. A multipurpose hall has been constructed on the first floor, which has a seating capacity of 132 people at a time. A large meeting room with a capacity of 22, a lounge and a multipurpose hall have also been constructed on the first floor. The auditorium is equipped with the latest air conditioning equipment and a lift.

Valmiki Nagar has become a hot destination for tourists and wildlife lovers in the last few years. Keeping these things in mind, four guest houses equipped with the latest facilities have been constructed for the rest of the tourists and guests coming here, in which 01 super special room, 05 suite rooms, 27 super deluxe, 30 deluxe and 25 normal rooms have been constructed. A restaurant and a waiting room have also been constructed in each guest house. The total built-up area of ​​​​the four guest houses is 8588 square meters. The complex also has a sewerage treatment plant, water treatment plant, electric substation and generator room.

Fly ash bricks have been used instead of red bricks in the buildings constructed in Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House. Along with this, recharge pit has been arranged for rain water harvesting and solar lights for lighting. Special attention has been given to the use of alternative energy sources in the campus. For this, solar plates have been installed on the constructed buildings, which will produce up to 210 kilowatts of electricity. The entire campus of Valmiki Auditorium and Guest House presents an excellent example of its beauty and architecture apart from environmental protection and water conservation. Special attention has been given to greenery in the entire campus. With every possible effort of the state government and the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, beautiful buildings and strong iconic, earthquake resistant buildings are being continuously constructed in Bihar.


 



On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Building Construction Minister Mr. Jayant Raj, MP Mr. Sunil Kumar, MLA Mr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh alias Rinku Singh, Legislative Councilor Prof. (Dr.) Virendra Narayan Yadav, Legislative Councilor Mr. Bhishma Sahni, Legislative Councilor Mr. Afaque Ahmed, Legislative Councilor Mr. Saurav Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner cum Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources Mr. Chaitanya Prasad, Secretary, Building Construction Department Mr. Kumar Ravi, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, District Magistrate, West Champaran Mr. Dinesh Kumar Rai, Superintendent of Police, Bagaha Mr. Sushant Kumar Saroj and other senior officers and engineers were present.
