Bihar CM firm for crime control in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's directives to curb rising crime rates.

Patna: Obviously concerned over rise in crimes ,Bihar chief minister,Nitish Kumar on Friday talked to the district magistrstes and SPs and directed them to firmly control crimes of all types.



Nitish talked to the DMs and SPs through video conference from Sankalp in the CM House and asked the officers to have night patrol and foot patrolling in the villages.


He asked the home secretary and DGP to expedite recruitment of police officers and men and women.At present,there are over 2.20 lakh police officers and 50,000 police women in the state.


Vigilance should be maintained to check land disputes related violence which account for 60 per cent of murders.



Nitish asked the DGP to take strong action against the errant police officers and punish them for their negligence or involvement in crimes.


Chief Minister said total prohibition must be enforced and no concession should be allowed to the bootleggers or smugglers of liquor .


Chief secretary,DGP,Senior police officers were present.
