Bihar Chief Secretary inspected traffic management and schemes in Bihta, appreciated the good progress in the works
Focus on Traffic Management, Civil Enclave at Bihta Airport, Elevated Corridor, and Other Public Welfare Schemes
The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has paid special attention to the successful and expeditious completion of various development schemes including traffic management in the state. As part of that, a team led by the Chief Secretary of the state visited Bihata today to take stock of the progress of these schemes.
Chief Secretary, Bihar Mr. Amrit Lal Meena today along with District Magistrate, Patna Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna Mr. Rajiv Mishra inspected various development schemes including traffic management in Bihta, civil enclave at Bihta airport, Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, Shivala ROB construction, land acquisition for Kanhauli bus stand. He praised the good progress in the works. The Chief Secretary directed the officers to complete the public welfare schemes in a quality manner within the time limit.
The Chief Secretary said that under the leadership of the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police, there is a better situation of implementation of developmental and public welfare schemes, security arrangements and maintenance of law and order in Patna district. Whatever small problems are coming up, they are being resolved on time. Taking all the stakeholders into confidence, the schemes are being implemented with sensitivity and commitment towards public welfare works.
The Chief Secretary said that following the objectives of the government, roads and bridges are being constructed giving top priority to public interest. Continuous efforts are being made for traffic management. Many schemes are being successfully implemented for the beautification of villages and cities. Many such projects are going on in various areas of Danapur subdivision. Keeping in mind the convenience of the public, various schemes of area development are being implemented including construction of civil enclave at Bihta military airport, construction of Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, construction of Shivala ROB, proposed bus stand construction at Kanhauli, Usri-Chhitnao road construction project, Hathikhan Mod-Chandmari road widening and strengthening project. Today, various areas of the subdivision are being inspected to take stock of the progress in these schemes. During the inspection, it was seen that there is good progress in the schemes. It will be completed on time. Whatever problems are coming up are being resolved on time by the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police. The Chief Secretary said that after the completion of these schemes, excellent facilities will be available to the public.
1. The Chief Secretary first reached Bihta Chowk at 10.00 am. There he monitored traffic management and the implementation of schemes. All the facts were brought to the notice of the Chief Secretary by the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police. The Chief Secretary said that the administration is regularly paying attention to public facilities. Traffic jam is a big problem at Bihta Chowk. The District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police had also inspected it several times in the past. Today I have also come to inspect it. To see what can be done immediately to decongest this place. Vacant land has been found on both sides of Bihta Chowk. The agency has been directed to build a slip road there. The agency has been directed to make the two-lane road from Bihta to Pareb a four-lane road. If there is any obstacle in this, the district administration will provide full cooperation. The agency has informed that the four-lane work will be completed within 45-60 days. The traffic problem will be resolved once the four-lane road from Bihta to Pareb is built. The Chief Secretary said that there is no problem in land acquisition. The district administration has given proper compensation to the farmers and it will be given in future as well. There is no problem anywhere. All stakeholders are being taken into confidence. Compensation for land and structure is being paid fast.
2. After inspection at Bihta Chowk, the Chief Secretary inspected the Bihta airport area and took stock of the works being done for the construction of the civil enclave and expansion of the runway. All the facts were brought to the notice of the Chief Secretary by the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police. The Chief Secretary said that the construction of civil enclave at Bihta airport is an important project of public interest. This will provide a lot of convenience to the passengers in movement. As per the direction of the state government, the district administration is providing all support for this. The Chief Secretary said that the length of the runway has to be increased from 8,000 feet to 12,000 feet so that any aircraft can land in any weather. For this, 400 meters long and 1,500 meters wide land is required. 190.50 acres of land is being searched for this work. A multi-member team was already formed by the District Magistrate to ensure the availability of 190.50 acres of land for the expansion of the runway. This team has visited the site and done a detailed study of all the options for the availability of land. The Chief Secretary said that the district administration has established coordination with all the stakeholders. Continuous work is being done to select the most suitable option from the point of view of public interest. The District Magistrate brought to the notice of the Chief Secretary that 108 acres of land had already been made available for Bihta Airport. 8 acres of additional land is also being made available. Under the construction of the Civil Enclave, the process of land acquisition of additional land of 8 acres in Mauja Vishambarpur is being processed rapidly. The notification was published on 28 September. After duly hearing the objections received, the notification will be published after the prescribed time limit and possession will be given in December. Land acquisition has already been done to build a 6-lane approach road for connectivity from NH-922 to the proposed Bihta Civil Enclave. The work on the airport link road is in progress. The Chief Secretary appreciated the expected progress in the works.

The Chief Secretary inspected the site to monitor the progress in the construction work of the Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, land acquisition work of the Kanhauli bus terminal and Shivala ROB construction work. He said that the elevated road being built from Bihta to Danapur is one of the longest elevated roads in the country. Work is going on at a very fast pace on it. The project is to be completed in two years. The district administration is providing all possible assistance to NHAI. There is good progress in the works. Whatever minor problems are coming up, the regional officers are promptly resolving them. The Chief Secretary said that there is a lot of traffic on Danapur-Bihta-Koilwar. With the construction of Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, the movement of Patna-Bihta will become very easy. The Chief Secretary said that there is no problem of land acquisition. The district administration has done the land acquisition work by taking all the stakeholders into confidence. Also, the compensation for land and structure is being paid speedily. The Chief Secretary said that there is very good progress in the land acquisition work of Kanhauli Bus Terminal and the construction work of Shivala ROB.
On this occasion, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Danapur; Assistant Superintendent of Police, Danapur; Project Director, NHAI, Land Reforms Sub-Collector, Danapur and others were also present.
