Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement for the elderly before the Delhi elections. Kejriwal said that the pension of the elderly in Delhi has been restarted. He announced that the elderly of 60 to 69 years will get Rs 2000 every month and the elderly above 70 will get Rs 2500 every month as pension.
Kejriwal said that 80 thousand new elderly people are being added to this scheme. With this, now 5.30 lakh elderly people of Delhi can get pensions. He said that if we get the blessings of the elderly, then our revenue will also increase. He said that the elderly of Delhi are getting the highest pension in the country. It was also passed by the cabinet and this scheme has been implemented. In the last 24 hours, 10 thousand people have also applied.
He said that before our government came, the elderly in Delhi also got a pension of only one thousand per month, our government has doubled it. Chief Minister Atishi said that Arvind Kejriwal thought about the people about whom no one thought. Kejriwal has arranged pilgrimage for one lakh people. BJP did not like that Arvind Kejriwal was working for the people of Delhi. That is why Arvind Kejriwal was arrested.
Kejriwal also mentioned the pensions being given to the elderly in other states. He said that where there is a double-engine government of the BJP, the elderly are getting less pension, whereas our government is giving the highest pension to the elderly. He said that the pension of the elderly should not be stopped. When I was in jail, these people stopped their pension. Due to this, they will not be able to get their blessings.
CM Atishi said - Kejriwal's government was formed in Delhi in 2015 and since then Delhi's son Arvind Kejriwal thought about every section of Delhi. Especially for the elderly, Kejriwal worked like Shravan Kumar. He arranged the pilgrimage for the elderly under the pilgrimage scheme. The BJP government tried to stop the work in Delhi while the Kejriwal government did not let it stop.
Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that there are many disabled people in Delhi. No government thinks about their welfare. Now more than 60 percent of the disabled people of Delhi will be given a pension of Rs 5000. Applications for this will also be taken soon.
