Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Announces 80:20 Compensation Split for Deceased Government Employees

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a big announcement on the distribution of compensation for the death of a government employee. According to the CM, after the death of the employee, some part of the compensation should be given to his parents. The Assam government has decided to bring a new rule to it.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biwa Sarma has said that after the death of a government employee in Assam, the compensation amount will be divided in the ratio of 80:20. CM Sarma said that 80 percent of the compensation amount will be given to the spouse of the deceased and 20 percent to the parents.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has said that the rule of distribution of compensation in the ratio of 80:20 will come into effect with immediate effect. Talking about the reason for this decision, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that we do not want the families to be divided in times of grief.

The Chief Minister of Assam has informed that government transfers and postings are a major source of corruption. To end this, our government will bring a portal through which employees will be able to transfer themselves. Government interference will be kept to a minimum in this. The Assam CM has also said that next year Assam's 14th medical college will start functioning in Guwahati while 3 more medical colleges will start functioning in 2026.
