Amrit Lal Meena Appointed as New Chief Secretary of Bihar

1989 Batch IAS Officer with 35 Years of Experience Takes Charge After Central Deputation

Amrit Lal Meena has become the new Chief Secretary of Bihar. He took charge after meeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Amrit Lal Meena, a 1989 batch IAS officer, was earlier the Secretary of the Coal Department in the Central Government. He has returned to Bihar from central deputation. Earlier he was working as Secretary in the Coal Department. The General Administration Department had issued a notification regarding his appointment as the Chief Secretary of Bihar.

Amrit Lal Meena, a resident of Karauli district of Rajasthan, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar. Amrit Lal Meena was earlier working as the Union Coal Secretary. On Saturday, the central government relieved him from this post and sent him back to Bihar. Meena has also been the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Bihar.

Amrit Lal Meena comes from the Scheduled Tribe community. He is the second IAS officer from Rajasthan to be made the head of the bureaucracy. Before him, Shivdas Meena of Jaipur was made the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. Shivdas Meena has recently retired from this post.

Amrit Lal Meena has 35 years of administrative experience. In his long career, he has worked on many important posts. Now the responsibility of the biggest administrative post in Bihar is on his shoulders.
