Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh Appointed as the Next Chief of Indian Air Force

Veteran Air Marshal to Succeed Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary; Brings 38 Years of Experience and Prestigious Honors to the Role

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has been appointed as the next Chief of the Air Force. Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of the Air Force. He will take over as Air Chief Marshal as the next Air Force Chief from the afternoon of 30 September 2024. The current Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary will retire on 30 September 2024.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh was born on 27 October 1964. Before this big responsibility, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh took over as the 47th Deputy Chief of the Indian Air Force on 1 February 2023. For the last few days, there was speculation that Amar Preet Singh's name could come forward for the new Air Force Chief.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has achieved many major achievements during his service. He was deployed in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force from the Air Force Academy, Dundigal on 21 December 1984. He has been serving in the Air Force for 38 years. Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has received training from the National Defense Academy Khadakvasla and Air Force Academy Dundigal. He has also been a student of Defense Service Staff College Wellington. He has another achievement to his name. He has also received training from the National Defense College of New Delhi.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, who became the new Chief of the Indian Air Force, recently not only surprised everyone by flying the Indian fighter jet Tejas, but also attracted everyone's attention due to his age. When he flew the Tejas aircraft, he was 59 years old. He has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for his service.
