BJP Leader Subramanian Swamy Files PIL; Allegations of Animal Fat in Laddu Spark Political Controversy in Andhra Pradesh
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board has officially lodged a police complaint in the case of alleged adulteration in the 'prasadam' given to the devotees at Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, TTD General Manager (Procurement) P. Murali Krishna has lodged a complaint against AR Dairy Food Private Limited, Dindigul at East Police Station Tirupati. Earlier, the government has formed an SIT under the leadership of senior police officer Sarveshwar Tripathi which will investigate this adulteration case.
A PIL has also been filed in the Supreme Court in the case of adulteration in the prasadam of the world famous Tirupati Balaji temple. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had filed this PIL. Subramanian Swamy had demanded an investigation into the allegations of adulteration leveled by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. During the NDA Legislature Party meeting, the Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had recently accused Tirupati Balaji temple's prasad of adulteration with animal fat. However, former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy called it political rhetoric.
On Friday, the board managing the country's richest temple revealed that it had found adulteration of poor-quality ghee and animal fat in the samples sent for quality check. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made the claim of adulteration of animal fat in Laddu. After the previous YSR Congress Party government was accused of this issue, former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy called it politics of diversion and a fabricated story.
