AAP Releases First List of Candidates for Upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections

Former BJP Leaders Among 11 Candidates Announced, Party Seeks to Strengthen its Position

The countdown for upcoming assembly elections in Delhi has been started. An important meeting of Aam Aadmi Party's PAC was held today in which after discussion, the first list of party candidates has been released. There are a total of 11 names in AAP's first list.

1. Brahma Singh Tanwar will contest from Chhatarpur

2. Anil Jha will be AAP candidate from Kiradi

3. Deepak Singla will contest from Vishwas Nagar

4. Sarita Singh will be AAP candidate from Rohtas Nagar

5. BB Tyagi will be AAP candidate from Laxmi Nagar

6. Ram Singh Netaji will be candidate from Badarpur

7. Zubair Chaudhary will be AAP candidate from Seelampur

8. Veer Singh Dhingan will contest from Seemapuri

9. Gaurav Sharma will contest from Ghonda

10. Manoj Tyagi will be AAP candidate from Karawal Nagar

11. Somesh Shaukeen will be AAP candidate from Matiala 

Aam Aadmi Party has also given tickets to many leaders who have come from other parties. This also includes the name of Anil Jha, who recently left BJP and joined AAP.

The selected candidate for the Chhatarpur constituency Brahma Singh Tanwar was a senior BJP leader and three-time MLA who recently joined AAP on 31 October. Tanwar joined AAP on the day of Diwali in the presence of former Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Another candidate Anil Jha will contest from Kiradi. On 17 November, Anil Jha, a veteran BJP leader and two-time MLA from Kiradi, joined AAP. During this time, Arvind Kejriwal welcomed Anil Jha into the party, calling him the biggest leader of Purvanchal.

Selected as a candidate for Laxmi Nagar, BB Tyagi was also a former BJP leader. BJP suffered a major setback in Delhi on 4 November, when BJP leader and two-time councilor BB Tyagi joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Tyagi joined AAP in the presence of Manish Sisodia.
