55th International Film Festival of India and 18th Film Bazaar to Illuminate Goa’s Cinematic Landscape
208 films to be showcased at Film Bazaar Viewing Room in IFFI 2024
The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to captivate Goa from November 20 to 28, celebrating global cinema and cultural exchange. Running alongside, the 18th Film Bazaar, held from November 20 to 24, will bring together filmmakers and industry professionals in an environment designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and exposure for South Asian cinema.
This year, Film Bazaar’s Viewing Room returns to the Marriott Resort from November 21 to 24, showcasing a curated selection of high-quality films from India and South Asia. This exclusive space will feature 208 films, including 145 feature films, 23 mid-length films, and 30 short films, with 12 National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) productions and 10 restored classics by NFDC and the National Film Archive of India (NFAI). The Viewing Room is specifically designed for filmmakers seeking distribution and funding, providing a platform for connecting with global film programmers, distributors, sales agents, and investors.
A notable feature, the Film Bazaar Recommends (FBR) list, spotlights 27 outstanding projects: 19 feature films, 3 mid-length films, 2 short films, and 3 restored classics. Prithul Kumar, Managing Director of NFDC, expressed excitement about the FBR selections, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the selections for the FBR, which celebrate the creativity and passion of filmmakers. This initiative is not just about recognition; it’s about empowering storytellers to share their visions with the world.”
Selected projects from the FBR list will have the opportunity to pitch to industry leaders during an open pitching session, allowing filmmakers to engage with producers, sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, and investors.
As a premier B2B platform, Film Bazaar aims to promote South Asian films to both national and international markets, offering unique promotional opportunities for filmmakers. The Viewing Room at Film Bazaar is a paid platform, providing filmmakers with targeted exposure to international film festivals, sales agents, and buyers.
