Impact of India's Eight Flagship Schemes: PM Narendra Modi’s initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the centerpiece program, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), during his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort's ramparts in 2014. The primary objective of the system was to ensure access to financial products and services at an affordable price. Flagship schemes of the Government of India are such schemes that are declared so by the Union Cabinet or the Development Assessment Advisory Committee (DEAC) of the Planning Commission. The list of flagship programs may be amended by DEAC or the Government from time to time. This Project contains 8 flagship schemes. Below we will discuss. 1. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, aims to eradicate open defecation throughout India. As part of the mission, the government has built toilets in more than 11.5 million households. In the Union Budget 2022-2023, the Center has earmarked Rs 7,192 crore for the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), while Rs 1,41,678 crore will be spent in 2021-2026 for the

Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) in 2015. While PMSBY offers accidental death or total permanent disability cover of Rs 2 lakh and permanent partial disability cover of Rs 1 lakh, PMJJBY offers life insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh. 4. Mudra Yojana The flagship scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), provides loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to small entrepreneurs. Loans are provided by banks, small finance banks, non-banking finance companies (NBFCs), and microfinance institutions. The program's goal is to develop the forward and backward connections for strong value chains that are supported by associations, aggregators, industries, and franchisors.

5. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) aims to provide "housing for all by 2022". In Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an allocation of Rs 48,000 crore to complete 80 million houses under the flagship scheme, both rural and urban, during the next fiscal year. 6. Ujjwala Yojana Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, a scheme that provides free LPG connections, was launched in 2016. Under the scheme, millions of households have access to gas cylinders for cooking without consumers having to pay an advance to fuel dealers. The success of the program is that it has enabled 80 million Indian women to lead healthy lives as they no longer have to use smoky challah or stove. 7.
