The addiction of excessive use of mobile phones is now proving to be fatal for teenagers. Every day there are reports of young people taking fatal steps after being scolded by their parents or relatives. One such case was seen recently in Ambarnath area of Thane district of Maharashtra. Where a 15-year-old girl was so upset by her mother's scolding for excessive use of mobile phone that she took the fatal step of suicide.

According to the police, the girl who committed suicide had consumed rat poison on September 26, after which she was admitted to a local hospital. When her condition became critical, she was referred to a hospital in Mumbai, where she died on October 2. A senior officer of Ambarnath police station said that on the basis of the medical report, a case of accidental death has been registered on October 12.

This incident draws attention to the mental health of youth and the dangers of excessive use of mobile phones. The stabbing took place during an argument," a police official said.

In another similar incident, a 16-year-old boy who was addicted to playing video games committed suicide last year after his father took away his smartphone. He had a heated argument with his father when he was asked to stop playing games on his smartphone and focus on his studies. His father took away his cell phone and asked him to go to bed when he was continuously playing games. The boy was very upset. The next day when the family woke up, the son was found hanging in the kitchen with a dupatta, police officials said.
