We appreciate the reforms introduced in the budget this year. As we are still in the midst of the pandemic, the government continues to focus on the healthcare segment. The announcement of the National Health Digital ecosystem is a welcome move. It will consist of digital registries and health facilities, universal access to health facilities and unique health ID which will help various health workers across the country. This is in alignment with PM Modi's vision of the National Digital Health mission. In Budget 2022, a lot of impetus has also been laid on mental health, which is much appreciated. In the last couple of years, there is greater emphasis being laid on the overall well-being. People are connecting with their roots and going back to traditional ways of healing and increasing their immunity. The government too recognises this and even in the current budget, increased the budget allocation to the Ministry Ayush to Rs 3,050. Additionally, the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Central Council for Research in Homeopathy and Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine have been allocated Rs 1,759 crore for research and development in the traditional medicine sector. We feel that this is truly a laudable effort by the government.
