Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Mourns Demise of Former Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep condolences on the passing of former Deputy Chief Minister and former Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday.

In a heartfelt message, Kumar remembered Modi as a "true soldier of the JP movement" and a longtime ally who served as his deputy for many years.

"Late Sushil Kumar Modi was a true soldier of the JP movement. He also worked with us for a long time as Deputy Chief Minister. I had a personal relationship with him and am saddened by his demise," Kumar said.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Modi's dedicated service to the people of Bihar, describing his death as an "irreparable loss" to the state's political and social spheres.

"I have lost a true friend and a hard-working politician today. His demise has caused irreparable loss in the political and social fields," Kumar added.

Modi, a veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had a long and distinguished political career spanning several decades. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2014, working closely with Kumar during the latter's tenure as Chief Minister.

Beyond his role in the state government, Modi also represented Bihar in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

As news of Modi's passing spread, condolence messages poured in from political leaders across party lines, recognizing his contributions to the state and his unwavering commitment to public service.
